I don't understand are these things going on in different universes? Are the writers just not talking to each other anymore? or are we on some kind of time delay. Anyways, I'm just confused.
I've been watching these today, and I'm trying to figure out why they were short lived. Well not really trying, I can kind of see why, the Avengers lacked the best Avengers and the Surfer was aiming at the wrong audience. Both of them look really nice, especially compared to the poorly animated X-men and Spiderman cartoons five years their prior.
The Avengers cartoon has all these redisigned costumes most of which look like powerranger costumes, and Tigra is voiced by whoever voiced Rogue in the X-men cartoon while it sounds like they're trying to make Hawkeye sound like Wolverine, a kind of rustly, whispery voice. Vision looks cool though, and all the colouring is great, though really bright. Other than the lack of Cap, Ironman, and Thor, I'm not really sure what else would have caused it's downfall.
The Silver Surfer is friggin beautiful, its all Jack Kirby stylized. With even the 3d renderings looking cellshaded to replicate Jack Kirby. But pretty much everysingle story is currupted far beyond what is actually canon. Surfer doesnt even meet the FF in his origin, Beta Ray Bill isn't a synthoid, and Thanos worships Chaos instead of Death. I guess that could be argued as "Silver Surfer with all original stories!". Anyhoo these aren't bad stories, I do think the entire series should be targeted to older audiences with Surfer's sometimes Shakespearist monologues.
