Ian Nottingham and The Magdalena (Sister Patience)

A fan-fic that I wrote 8 years ago. I plan to pith Ian Nottingham and The Magdalena using their respective Artifacts - The Blood Sword and The Spear of Destiny, respectively. The title of the fan-fic is Blood Destiny

Witchblade - Alex Underwood

The current wielder of the Witchblade and soon to be former wielder as Top Cow is bringing back Sara Pezzini as the wielder of the Witchblade; Alex's manifestation of the Witchblade makes her look like one of Carnage's spawns but in a more metallic manner; To be honest, the new series didn't seat well with me, its too talkie and less action. Story wasn't interesting or makes you want to really read it through; I just wonder what the new take on Sara is... will it be a continuation or a total reboth...one thing for sure, the Witchblade gauntlet is having a new look.

Shi vs Kabuki

Shi by Willian Tucci and Kabuki by David Mack have always been characters in conflict but never did these two ever crossed path in comics except during a "fan service" comic Battle of Independence where in Shi teamed up with Cyblade to fight a force affecting "indie comicdom" (I know its a cheapshot and cheesy but fun...its 90s comics anyway so understand the context of its time); Kabuki is one of the characters shown but never really interacting with Shi or Cyblade;

I really love the aesthetics of the two and I still dream of a good storyline where the two can cross path together with their respective characters in their universes, Tomoe for Shi and the Noh Assassins for Kabuki.

Batman and Catwoman from Batman Returns

The infamous Tim Burton movie that showcased a comic book feel of the characters. Michael Keaton played the part well and his second film as Batman and Michelle Pfieffer is PURRRfection as Catwoman. I may come back again and redo a piece about this too... aiming for an Olivia de Berardinis approach but in pencils only

Are your drawings direct quote from actual drawings of Greg? Actually, I am not seeing the similarities as yours is more round and his is more square-ish;

Some actually learn from copying from the pros in fact some company hire artist copycats (not an offensive word really as this in itself is a high level technique and skill mastery) so as to maintain the aesthetics of their books. But we do value also uniqueness of one’s work which will always come out if one is really creative. I would say you are inspired by Greg but you have your own take of things. However, I see that you need to study more actual human anatomy to gain more dynamic lines that you can apply with your work. Retranslanting actual human figures to comic book physique is a nice exercise and challenge. You will be surprise how it can create better character with your work.

I think this is the 2nd time he has been in prison. The first one was due to a frame up by Kingpin’s wife but this is the first time he put himself in and not by any police or government agency imposing the law at him.

Mystique

The perfect female anti-hero from the X-Men; mysterious and self-righteous... she first caught my attention in the animation series from the 90s and in fact the first X-Men comic book I bought is about her and her connection with Nightcrawler.
