My Top Ten: Villains

The ones we love to hate, here's my top ten villains listed from favorite to least favorite. This list is not intended to be limited to comic book villains, just characters with articles on Comicvine. If you like this list, check out my top ten heroes list!

List items

  • Someone you definitely DO NOT want to meet in a dark alley, or any alley actually. His insane kill count, unpredictability and willingness to take it to the next level put him at the top of the list.

  • The ultimate representation of evil in the DC universe.

  • Breathing problems and prequels aside, this is one bad dude. How many others on this list could stop a blaster shot with their hand? A couple actually, but he's still pretty badass.

  • If this was an ego-measuring contest, Vegeta would definitely top the list. The ultimate tough-guy who needs to show everyone how tough he is. If only he could show up Kakarot...

  • The quintessential mad scientist mixed with the quintessential evil businessman. A complete sociopath who constantly makes the argument for brains over brawn and humanity over superhumanity.

  • Before he was Spock, Quinto played a nerdy recluse who just wanted to be special. When he got a little taste of power, he went crazy and started killing people for their super powers (but not by eating their brains as popularly believed).

  • I could fill up this list with Batman villains, but I decided to limit it to two. Riddler takes obsession to a whole new level as he continues his quest to prove he's smarter than Batman. Not smart enough to know crime doesn't pay!

  • Basically he makes the list because he has a jetpack. In my opinion, having a jetpack is cooler than actually being able to fly. Also, there is an element of mystery to his character that makes him all the more menacing.

  • SPOILER ALERT

From the first volume of Marvel's Runaways. The central character of the book, a comic book nerd who is the only one with no super powers. He's not as openly evil as the other characters on this list, but he is willing to play dirty and sell out his friends to come out on top.

  • The Mayor from Buffy Season 3. There's something really menacing about a guy who is that happy and downright pleasant all the time!

  • Honorable mention: For the classic quote "Do you seriously think I'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? I did it thirty-five minutes ago."
