As you probably know, Rob Liefeld announced a few days ago that he's leaving DC Comics because of heavy editorial interference. Don't get me wrong, I never used to be a Liefeld-hater. I might not like his art, but I never saw a problem with Rob himself...at least, until he started his already infamous Twitter war...
When Rob quit, he decided to make it as public and painful for DC as possible. Instead of calmly pointing out the problems (which George Perez did), Rob blamed EVERYTHING on his editors. According to him, he was stuck in the middle of his editors' "pissing contests". Let's not forget when he called out one editor specifically, who he said had a "little pecker". This same editor was publicly defended by many other writers and editors, including Gail Simone (who has also had previous problems with editorial)
Some people said this was brave of him, and it's good that he exposed DC's editors. With his more recent tweets, I think it's becoming more clear that he must be horrible to work with. Not only did he say the art on Grifter was "crap" (he later deleted that tweet), but he began a war with Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo (of Batman fame) today. He said that Scott sent him harassing private messages, so Rob began to tweet that Batman's current book is not succesful because of the writing or art. According to Rob, people buy it because it's Batman, not because Scott and Greg are doing a great job. Since then, Rob has tweeted pictures of Scott's private messages; honestly, I have no idea what Rob was talking about. In the messages, Scott asked Liefeld if he was mad at him for somthing. Rob replied "You are f-ing crazy" (http://twitpic.com/anmcxshttp://twitpic.com/anmdh3)
I'm sure I will update this later, because I doubt Rob will give up anytime soon.

As you all know, DC Comics has decided to revamp their entire line of comics. In September, we'll see 51 brand new titles (along with Justice League #1 premiering in August)! DC's goal is to have a jumping on point for both longtime fans and people new to comics. With these relaunches showcasing new designs for almost all of DC's characters (thanks Jim Lee and co.) and brand new line-ups for their iconic teams, there is definitely room to introduce new characters. Obviously, there are thousands of characters who haven't been in the spotlight for a very long long time! Here are some characters who could use a fresh new take in this DC Universe:
*Gypsy- The former member of Justice League Detroit who had a...strange looking getup before the reboot that could be refreshed to be more modern. *Samurai, Apache Chief, El Dorado, Golden Pharaoh, and Cyclotron-Remember that old Superfriends cartoon and the Super Powers action figures that went along with it. These are some of the campiest characters ever imagined (that could be why their never appeared since, except for Samurai's tiny cameo in a Justice League comic not long ago). I still think that if DC updated their costumes to look more modern, they could all fit as members of the all new Justice League International.
*Chloe Sullivan-*ducks and hides* I know most people are opposed to Smallville's Chloe showing up in the comics, but by now you know that Babs Gordon is going back to being Batgirl. What does that mean? The Birds of Prey (Well, this universe's strange version of the birds) don't have an Oracle!!
*Snapper Carr-I just want to see Snapper around the Hall of Justice (or whatever the JL's HQ is in this universe) snappin those fingers!!
I could go on, and on, and on. You know that Geoff Johns loves to take campy villains (ie Black Hand) and turn them into a menacing super-criminal. I can definitley see him doing that with many of DC's villains. So, who do you think deserves a new design and updated origin as we enter into a new age of DC Comics!
I'm wondering if anyone's looking forward to the finale tomorrow. I am! Did you guys see the picture of Black Canary with longer, puffy hair? Everyone thinks Chloe will die, but I kind of hope not. Although, they might kill her because they're just starting her relationship with Ollie and want to add to the hero drama (then Ollie probably quits being Green Arrow and we have to watch him get on drugs, etc.). Tess has been appearing alot, especially since the Checkmate arc started, so maybe she'll meet her demise.
