Hulk, especially Rulk, appeals to younger boys. thats the buyer market for it,
and why it has success, and whether we like it or not, that is a group in
comics that needs to be fulfilled, if not foremost for the industry to remain a float. 
Loeb as much as said and i quote " I dont care what the critics say, its still
making money. If they dont like it they can stop buying it. "
alot of comics have to be aware of the younger readers as well as trying to appeal to
the older nostalgic fans. this is heavily needed in Marvel and DC, so while some may
say Independent is much more sophisticated, that is because it doesnt need to cater
to other audiences persay. so reading toned and watered down comics and enjoying them
at the same time requires the use of ones imagination. 
 
Good point coming to light here about Fraction. I dont feel that Loeb is a bad writer in the
least, in fact he is hailed. this is more something i was talking about in another thread with actors,
where their performance can come off in varied degrees depending on what theyre working on.
I feel that Loeb is just not in his element with Hulk. His element is better suited to more human
based vigilantes, like Batman and Daredevil, serious stories that take place in big dirty cities.
Likewise Fraction doesnt measure up to the X-Verse with his style, but its a perfect match for Iron Mans world, same with Pak and War Machine. Pak writes godlike characters best, and thats of course not suited to alot of books.
 
Personally i just dont read Hulk right now. Because its not what i like, doesnt make it bad.
It would be selfish of me to expect writers to make every book exactly to my liking. One
of theeir largest challenges in the first place is to try and appeal it to every type of mindset,
which has to be a major task. For awhile i still picked it up even though the book frustrated me.
Why i did this is i was stuck in the "need to know what happens next regardless" phase. What
i learned to do is shelve books like this in place of others, and if i felt the need i could get them
later in the dollar or quarter bins, and then i wouldnt feel like i wasted my money.
 
Lastly i dont feel Red Hulk is a bad character. Neither is A-Bomb. Comic characters arent real,
and they dont make themselves. Thats on the writer. Every character has potential, it just depends who's driving them.

...Jeph Loeb is a bad writer?  I must've missed that. 
 
I can't think of anything that he's written that was flat-out BAD.  There are some things he's written that were a little less than other stuff he has done.  Long Halloween and Dark Victory were both great books, as was Hush.  I thoroughly enjoyed his Marvel "colors" books.  From what I've read of Red Hulk so far, I've enjoyed that as well. 
 
Definitely gotta say that seeing a hate thread for the sake of a hate thread...with very little criticism as to WHY...is a bit of a shame.  =  /

I saw this at a book store for 50 cents. I flipped through to see the art and it was horrible. Liefeld's work would be so much better if he just slimmed down the characters and eased up on all those lines that he has to add. "

i hate loeb as much as the next guy . i think his only good work was the long halloween  and it could have been better

Red Hulk is commonly thought of as the worst comic book character in recent history (dont belive me go on any comic book forum especially try /co/ on 4chan). Not only that but Loeb got the "genius" idea to make a red she hulk. The man needs to stopped before he makes things worse

Do what I do if your so upset about it, just leave your comic books on a shelf to make your library of books look bigger and never read them.
