Why do you know so much? haha
LOL! My wife asks me the same thing. I'm prepared to meet you half way on the hacking thing. Henshaw is technically alive, so it was more his eternal soul that invaded the body/body armor of the fallen Apokoliptian Shock Trooper. Likewise, his having a soul allowed him access to the Source Wall. He's simply a disembodied spirit with technopathy, after all. And he's talented with it too. But since the New Gods use a lot of tech, we often overlook the fact that all of their stuff is either skirting the borders of or overtly magical in nature. A lot of it simply looks like what we would recognize as tech. Now that I think about it that way, I guess the Hunter/Prey thing does make a little more sense. It only took me 20 years to figure it out (lol)! If the combo of Wayne, Stone, and Stark somehow successfully hack Forth World weapons, well they can pat themselves on the back with both hands, because no one else ever has without a mystical component being involved; And even that was pretty squirrely. But EMP's have proven unsuccessful against weapons from the Fourth World because most of them will tend to absorb the EMP wave and use it as fuel or convert it to visible light like Barda's Mega-Rod did once.
Darkseid doesn't actually know where Krypton is. Unless he does and I don't know about it.
Oh, he does alright. In fact, his knowledge of Krypton (pre-explosion) and Daxam is down right scary. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of their genetic potential (yellow sunlight, etc..) Superman was stunned by this in their initial encounters, as to how this being could know so much about a culture and a people he himself was still learning about from Memory Crystals left to him by his father. I think Darkseid's knowledge of Krypton came from a combination of his rivalry with Rao, the chief deity of Krypton, and star charts. After all, if the Guardian's know where all of the planets are due to star charts, why wouldn't the Fourth Worlders?
So these Black Merceries(Which shouldn't even be able to catch them) can get through vibranitum? Thor can actually summon lightning so I don't see how they are even relative or a big factor when theoretically it shouldn't be able to tag anyone. And a blast should murk that think.
No I dont think that they could penetrate vibranium, due to its durability. But as I (and @warlordeternal) mentioned earlier, the Black Mercy's use a variety of different methods to capture their prey. Primarilly, they can use their thorns, teeth, and barbs to penetrate items from human flesh up to the hardness of iron alloys. Anything harder than that (Body Armor, really good superhuman durability, force fields), and it will use either TK or a tractor beam type effect to attach itself to its host. The only substance that's proven consistantly problematic to them is what those special gloves Mongul uses. And we don't know what the hell they're made of! It's hallucinogenic effects are part psionic, part poisonous. All the while it's siphoning off the life force of its host. If the host has a sufficient level of sentience or intelligence (even if, in Stel's case, it's an artificial intelligence) it can latch on. It's also not impossible to think that with his rings, Mongul could make a B-52 style bomber construct and perform an air strike with the Black Mercy's. Remember, he doesn't have to get everybody. Just a couple of their major players neutralized along with what ever else is going on could secure victory for Team 1. They are'nt plants like you or I would understand them. They're more like sea anemone in that they're animals with a plant-like appearance. And they are'nt exactly slow either. You know how fast Green Lantern's are/can be (they'd have to be to cover the ground that they do), and they (the Black Mercy's) have proven capable of ensnaring them as well. Despite their protective aura, on some occasions. You're good @wardemon32! You're keeping me on my toes, and I love it!
