HAHAHAHAHA you pulled a case that was two years old last November to find an incident like this, congratulations. Meanwhile systematic racism has killed, violated the rights of, and wrongly imprisoned how many African Americans in that time? But I'll humor you. Details of this case don't have nearly as many discrepancies as Ferguson, which they're trying to compare it to. Darren Wilson was allowed to drive himself back to the station, wash his hands, and check his own gun into evidence following the shooting of Michael Brown. Additionally no statement was taken from him at the time regarding the incident, all of which violates standard police procedure which exists specifically for these kinds of situations. In addition to that, the prosecutor at his grand jury decision brought in witnesses FOR the person he was supposed to trying to prosecute and essentially put Michael Brown on defense instead of Darren Wilson. He also allowed a witness to speak on behalf of Wilson despite the fact that said witness had a history of lying to police about witnessing other crimes.
Now all those discrepancies aside, could this shooting have been handled differently? Absolutely. No one is saying that excessive use of force by police is purely a one way street, but statistics show that every level of our judicial system seems to be more biased against people who aren't white. Whether it's stop and frisk, police brutality, conviction rates, or getting shot by the police, the system is incredibly weighted against you if you're not white.. Protests and riots weren't solely about Mike Brown, they were about how poorly our justice system performs across the board.
I enjoy The Walking Dead, I've been following the comic for a few years now and I watch the show even though it's not really the same story. But I've noticed that every comment section of every facebook post about TWD is just filled with the same tired memes as if the people who watch the show are completely unable to express their own opinions without a picture of Rick crying or Carol telling someone to look at flowers. I've never seen such meme abuse for any other show. It's at a point where if you are looking for even the slightest hint of a conversation about characters or plot you will be severely disappointed. Even reality show comment sections have more intelligent conversation going.
I'd rather be blind. The thing I'd miss most is reading, but I can still listen to audiobooks. My ability to write wouldn't really be impacted since I could use a program or scribe for that, but I'm no Bethoven so my ability to play music would probably be significantly worsened. Not being able to properly read comics or appreciate art would suck, but not as much as missing out on all music.
@timelord: I hope so. I just want my regular Kyle and Carol New Guardians stories back. I hate having to buy 20 additional comics just to understand what's happening.
