I have been looking into the earlier issues of captain America and I've seen that his shield was at first a triangle and then the familiar circular shield. What I'm wondering is when does his shield stay one pattern of colors. His shield changes from two blue stripes and the inside red to one blue stripe and on red stripe and the inside still red or the other way around.

Pretty sure the red, white, and blue stripes is from his really early showings, and the red and white stripes are from more modern issues that show him fighting during WW II.
