@one_truephoenix: its understandable not to like the New Sun story hell I dont like the Phoenix stories. Im of the mindset that you dont need a possession by some entity to find the goldenhearted goodness of a situation or character. I have one Phoenix story and basically its a redo or retcon if you will of how I would have done the original thing. I kind if combine seceral elements from stories and even some unused plot ideas from old writers. I may post it here or dm you. Dont know if you'll like it or not but it definitely does not make it a cosmic thing.

Someone else in these forums cant remember if it was @ursaber or @pyrofn mentioned the Phoenix being a level or classification of mutant abilities sort of like Alpa level, Omega level and maybe Phoenix level. I thought that was interesting

@hopesummersforthefuture: Spurrier is not a bad writer. His previous X-book werent bad at all. He feels like a bit of a throwback to Claremont. If he was replacing Vita Ayala or Tini Howard it would actually be exciting. Wish Mike Carey would jump back in

@cattlebattle: not a bad idea. I for one am glad people speak with their wallets and the "free" sites are fine too because who wants to pay 4-5 dollars an issue for only 4 pages of story and the rest filler. I think the motion comics idea is good with a subscription service the same with just doing animated stories and series. I've been saying for a while that driving and advertising an ogn style comic is more productive and a better form of current storytelling than the monthly model complete with delays and all

Whitesword was interesting with the ability to resurrect but they become zombies enthralled to him. There's alot of potential in that.

Isca is cool asf. Though we dont need another Domino who's also a good character but with stupidly unexplained abilities.

Love Genesis' abilities along with her and Apocalypse's children.

Bei the Blood Moon is good too though he ability is a little redundant with the Xmen having Banshee and Siryn. But if used different it works just fine.

RedRoot has an interesting design and could possibly be made into something interesting all around.

The rest ehh not so much

Every superhero team in Marvel at the same time is facing a world or universe ending threat and they dont share the news. This was the idea of an Illuminati and while its not a terrible concept it just doesn't work for seperate storytelling.

Yet another reason/argument (Industry rule number four thousand and eighty) for the Xmen to be in their iwn seperate universe and continuity

They dont sell because there are too many books and its too watered down. Also they dont benefit from the name. To a 1st timer going into a comic shop wanting to pick up Xmen but hearing that they need to read Excalibur and Hellions and Children of the Atom and Marauders all these other names it just doesnt sound like Xmen. They probably would get a boost in sales by just naming it Xmen, Uncanny Xmen and Astonishing Xmen.

Also they could really just combine a few titles. Like imagine if you combined Xforce and Wolverine with Hellions. Tell the same stories just combined. Call it Wolverine's Xforce for marketing purposes because no matter how stupid it may seem to some...Wolverine sells. And a roster where Beast is working like a CIA spook with Sinister being shady while you have Wolverine, Domino, Kwannon and Scalphunter as a strike squad would combine all the great elements from each of these books.

Kitty's stuff is pretty decent but should be added to and combined with the Xmen book along with Xfactor.

You can still ship the same amount of units but just contained in 2-3 books. It would advance the story which helps with readability and each book woukd do the 30k-40k on a biweekly basis.

A version of Gambit called New Son or New Sun defeated Phoenix in his own reality. Making any and everybody host to the Phoenix cheapens it.

But just to play along because this doesn't seem to go away no matter how much people hate it......

1. Just make Phoenix an elder god and since this elder god is one of life and rebirth it attaches itself to mutants as they evolve. It can be the god of mutants somewhat like the Panher goddess Bast

2. A disembodied Celestial. Phoenix was stripped of tye celestial armor and is an incorporeal being that wonders thru the universe

3. Make it an ancient psionic Shiar weapon of mass destruction like the Hecatomb. This weapon was created to annex worlds but was so powerful it was ordered destroyed but its creators didnt but sent it to earth
