@cattlebattle: I mostly agree with what you've said here. It does seem like at times certain characters on certain teams are just put there because they are a writers favorites or whatever.
Mystique and Sabertooth being on the team is huge problem for me. How many times are people going to carry the idiot ball and put her on a team just to be betrayed. Also I'm not a fan of putting certain people together just for the sake of drama. So Psylocke agreeing to be on a team with Fantomex and Sabretooth is baffling to say the least. While I'm willing to give the writer a chance to explain why this team is together, it does feel like disfunction for the sake of drama which in my opinion should never be the major factor for telling a story. Have we learned nothing from the reality TV craze.
I actually like Archangel over Angel but there needs to be a story told if we are reverting back to that. And like you said its kind of disregarding continuity. Sabretooths inversion still being played up is just ridiculous to me. Mystique has been all over the place and needs direction but we just can't have a book entitled Xmen that's only the Xmen villains. Everyone can't be an xman and there needs to be villains. I mean what next, Sinister is going to join up now??
There are plenty of Xmen that would actually fit the agenda for this team as opposed to using Mystique, Fantomex and Sabertooth. The choice of M kind if came out of the blue and I guess its OK because I could see her going this way but why even do that when you have Frenzy out there.
I don't know its hard not to nitpick everything these guys do. I guess with this book its the lesser of two evils. I'm more interested in this as opposed to Extraordinary. Not that book really seems like a clusterf*ck.
