@lazarus4tempest: It's a character/IP that has a very successful film franchise and is one of the staple characters in the publishing division, Thor isn't going anywhere. If the current stories aren't satisfying there's no sense in spending money on them. If anything, lower sales cause creators to evaluate what they can do to remedy that. I haven't bought a comic since about 2012-13 last I remember. Before 2012 it was an even longer hiatus. Current superhero comics are just not for me. Continuity and editorial discipline have been missing from the "Big Two" for many years unfortunately.

The easiest and most cost effective way to show displeasure is to not buy the comics.

The Disney-fication of Marvel.

Although I'd say it started once Quesada took over the reigns as EIC with his "Anything goes!" mantra. Editorial discipline had already fallen by the wayside in the 90's so it was the perfect storm for Indy darling writers to come in and do whatever stories they wanted. Didn't help that Marvel was desperate in the late 90's and early 2000's to avoid bankruptcy, and in doing so started licensing their characters for major films which made money, and there you go. Now mostly all of the characters sound the same, have to possess some sort of snarky humor coupled with some pretty massive character flaws #becauserelatability. Thor is the poster child for this trend. Stunted speech pattern and behaviors, humanistic qualities intensified, less focus on the mystical elements of the mythos, etc.

What is the context of that photo? That was a cover from when Aaron first started his run.

If Thanos were twice as strong he would've stabbed him with Stormbreaker with relative ease. Especially in that position. All his weight and leverage is coming down on Thor (whom he just pummeled) and Thor holds him back just enough (maybe 4-5 seconds?).

I think Thanos was sort of squatting as opposed to kneeling but yes Thor was slightly bearing down on him. Actually the part after Thanos beats him up and snatches Stormbreaker for a potential killshot, it was a bit impressive that Thor was able to hold him back as long as he did given that Thanos was on top of him using all his weight. It's just annoying that Thor was never shown to be a particularly skilled fighter.

In his farewell message he basically wants a fictional god to be just like a human being. So a being that is virtually immortal and has lived for thousands of years wakes up every morning questioning their worthiness? Don't their actions over the centuries solidify that? I'd like to see a writer use their imagination and portray a god as....a god maybe?

Honestly I didn't even like Endgame as a film. Total childish fan-service and a very weak narrative with massive plot-holes. Unlike Infinity War, I have never cared to seen Endgame since the first initial viewing.
