For sure, the laws of death rarely apply to any character anymore, but even less so to gods, monsters and aliens.

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Why female Thor is selling so poorly compared to Stracynski. on the Thor board

Thor vol. 3 by JMS also happened to be about, you know, Thor. The current Thor relaunch received a massive publicity push in comparison and still has Thor in the book alongside Roz Solomon Thor. Th...

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Would you have preferred killing Thor off?. on the Thor board

Rune King Thor was basically in a deep sleep. Then there was the time under Fraction where he died defeating Cul in battle and was swallowed by the demagurge (sp?), but breaking out of there and comi...

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Would you have preferred killing Thor off?. on the Thor board

Thor is virtually immortal and can essentially 'will' himself back to life, so the dramatic effect of his death would be minimal (if not comical). A story of Thor losing his ability to wield Mjolnir...

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Who is stronger physically than Thor ?. on the Thor board

@shaokahn: Your answer continues to be a vague "debunked" comment with no weight behind it. How is Thor lifting Jormungandr "PIS" but Superman towing entire planets perfectly acceptable? Thor has PLE...

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Odin's protrayal recently(rant). on the Thor board

@z3ro180: No, only Matt Fraction portrayed Odin as an insufferable, "get off my lawn" type of character. This is what happens when you desperately try to "humanize" characters that are obviously not...

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Respect The The Mightest Avenger. on the Thor board

One-armed Thor looks ridiculous. He looks like a street-bum version of Cable. I'm a huge fan of Cable and I thought his metallic arm looked unique. Thor just looks like a doofus right now. This i...

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Who is stronger physically than Thor ?. on the Thor board

I mean portrayals of strength basically vary from story to story. You really don't see any of these characters really "cut loose" close to their potential (or implied) strength levels because they'r...

Cap's bike throwing feat is more impressive than anything Thor has done. Looked neat.

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Who is stronger physically than Thor ?. on the Thor board

@shaokahn: If Thor's feats are PIS, so are Superman's, or Hulk's or any other powerhouse's. Your statement has no base.

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Jason Aaron's attempt at being "clever". on the Thor board

The God of Thunder was both a commercial and critical success (relatively speaking in the comic book market), as I think it was consistently the 2nd or 3rd best selling solo title behind Spider-Man an...

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Odin's protrayal recently(rant). on the Thor board

At the end of the day this is the modern Marvel method. Tear everything down to the "nitty gritty" with no clue how to bring the story back to the light (See: Bendis, Brian Michael).

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Jason Aaron's attempt at being "clever". on the Thor board

@mekboy: Al Ewing and Jason Aaron are directly addressing detractors to the current "Thor" status quo by directly speaking to the reader through sarcastic dialogue. Rather childish in my opinion, bu...

Gerry Conway wasn't too shabby either. As a whole, especially from the 60's to the 80's, Thor has had some steady creative work.

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic how or when did you get introduced to THOR?. on the Thor board

Way back in the very early 1990's when I was first introduced to comics, an older cousin of mine showed me his collection and he had a good amount of Thor comics from Walt Simonson. The X-Men were h...

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Walter Simonson, JMS or Jason Aaron. on the Thor board

@antithetical: I would definitely suggest the "Eternals" saga from Roy Thomas. Quite a swan song from him before he left Marvel. You want to talk about epic storytelling for Thor? This is it. It ...

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic Odin's protrayal recently(rant). on the Thor board

Odin's behavior and apparent inability to use his vast power to discover the chick's identity is just another miserable, contrived plot-device in a mess of a story.

  • HaveAtThee posted a message in the forum topic 2017 Thor Ragnarok without Jane Foster?. on the Thor board

Perhaps Thor simply dumps Jane and basically all of Earth during Age of Ultron because he's fed up between all the petty infighting amongst his teammates and the governments of Earth. He also is ale...
