@akbogert: Excellent text! I agree with everything you said a 100%. It's for reasons like this that I'm following you!
I admit that the only of these characters that I'm familiar with is X-23, but I still refuse to pick up the book. I find the very idea behind it to be vile. It's like the author caugh up on the succes of Hunger Games but missed out on the fact that those books where written partially as a criticism to humanity and our modern society. Instead it chose to be the very thing that Hunger Games criticises. Death as a mean of cheap entertainment.
And I can only imagen how angry I'd be if this was done to characters that I was actually invested in. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has problems with Avengers Arena
No no, Gambit slept with Wolverine while Wolverine was wearing a white and brown wig, and Rogue's pants. Rogue also attacked Iceman in the lunchroom unprovoked and burned his sandwich with Sunfires powers. This was too much for Professor X who demanded that they break up or else he would enforce the Xavier Protocols 2.0.
You just made my day! lol
Stop this Wolverine/storm nonsense. I want some wolverine/Gambit dammit!
@BKole: It's okay. Glad it was just a misunderstanding. I've made similar mistakes when replying to other comments so now I'm just happy I'm not the only one. lol
The creative teams on these books are awesome. I shall give them a shot.
THIS.

I can't help but feel that this'll get cancelled in a few months
This.
Why should we waste money on this kind of titles when we know DC may not even give them a proper chance before giving it the boot? If it doesnt sell it obviously doesnt have a place in the New 52, and why risk falling in love with a series if it means such disappointment.
This is why these series' get cancelled. That mentality is too widespread.
This is 100% accurate. If you don't want to try it, that's fine. Others, however, do want to give something new a go. Comics are not 100% prats wearing their pants on the outside punching other prats into buildings. Some readers wants something a little bit different, mature or indeed intelligent. God forbid we be allowed to have something different instead of homogenized Batman and SELECTED CHARACTER OF THE WEEK spun into forty eight on-goings.
I think you must have missread what i wrote. If you read my comment again you'll probably see that I wasn't complaining over all the new non-cape books DC's been publishing. I've picked most of them up myself and they're excellent. What I was really saying is that DC hasn't given any of these books a proper chance. They've been canceled way too early to be able to find themselves a steady fanbase. Since we seem to agree on this I dont see why you're arguing.
