Underrated Batman Villains

Batman has one of the largest rogues gallery in comic books. However, some villains rarely show up, no matter how great of a villain they might be. These are some of Batman's most underrated foes.

List items

  • The Spook is an escape artist and a master of illusion. He uses these skills to give himself the appearance of being a ghost.

  • Doctor Phosphorus' skin is pure phosphorus, making it burn when it makes contact with the air. Just a touch can cause severe burns, and he's very difficult to trap.

  • Catman is basically an evil version of Batman. He uses gadgets to commit his crimes, all of them based off of Batman's. He even had a Catmobile. However, Catman also has the speed, agility, ferocity, and tracking ability of a lion, making him a very worthy adversary.

  • Although he's coming more to public attention due to his prominent appearances in 'Batman: Arkham Origins' and 'Beware the Batman', Anarky is still not very well-known, and that's a shame. He's a lot like Batman, but Anarky focuses on freedom of the people, not just helping victims of crimes. Anarky, however. does not have the limits that Batman does, and is willing to pull out all the stops to fight government corruption, low wages, and inequality, even if it means taking down the government entirely.

  • Firefly is a pyromaniac with burns on over 90% of his body. He's a master arsonist with flamethrowers, firebombs, and even a jetpack. Although fairly well-known within the DC Universe for his appearances in 'The Batman', 'Batman: Arkham Origins', 'The New Batman Adventures', and 'Arrow', Firefly still stays out of the spotlight for the most part.

  • His costume may be unbelievably cheesy, but Eraser is actually a good villain. He cleans up tracks after a crime has been pulled off, leaving no evidence behind... for a price.

  • The Riddler is actually very well known. That doesn't mean that he's not underrated, though. The Riddler is one of the few villains that challenges Batman through brains, not brawn. He's not given nearly as much attention as he deserves.

  • Although fairly well-known for his prominence in The Suicide Squad, Deadshot isn't given much of a spotlight as the expert marksman he is. Outside of The Suicide Squad, he's barely known, despite his major appearances in 'Arrow', 'Batman: Arkham City', and 'Batman: Gotham Knights'.

  • Although some might argue that he's more of a Green Arrow villain, Onomatopoeia targets all heroes that don't have powers. He focuses his attention mostly on Green Arrow and Batman because he's failed to kill them on so many occasions. Why does he target heroes without powers? Who is he? Nobody knows. Onomatopoeia remains a mystery.
