Graphic designer, screenprinter, music enthusiast and occasional photographer (but very camera shy). I enjoy collecting and listening to music (avant-garde, 1970s Japanese psych, Krautrock, drone, free jazz, old country, the random guilty pleasure, death and black metal), sketching doodles in notepads and sometimes screenprinting when time permits. I spend my free time as a volunteer either lending my design skills to a local music education non-profit or being a part-time DJ at a local college radio station.
I've been reading comics for a while now. I picked it during high school and loved it but lost interest when I became busy with my college courses. I have been reading off and on since then mostly checking out trades from my local public library. My local comic book store would not like me to spread that around but the public library is a great resource for those who cannot frequently buy comics. (BTW, an employee at my local comic book store told me they are responsible for purchasing most of the comics/trades for the public library hereāhe was somewhat joking about keeping hush). A friend's introduction to Planetary and later All-Star Superman opened my eyes to the beautiful art and writing that I missed so I started checking out the new releases. Reading all the reviews and listening to the podcasts featuring all of the contributors to Comic Vine gave me that push to venture back into buying comics once more.
