How is ANXM so much better than Uncanny? I don't get it.
I did not like the art in this one, and I feel like every other issue of this book has been a filler issue. Really teetering on the edge of my pull list these days.
Sums it up perfectly. The art was not my cup of tea and maybe it threw me off from enjoying the story, but it all felt a bit flat. I greatly enjoyed the panel layouts so that is a plus.
So happy to finally know who is taking over this title now that booch and francis are on detective. I for one like Brett Booth's art, not as unique as francis and his amazing work but very "high superhero" style.
I haven't read very much of Wally as the Flash. (I just started reading again last year and hadn't read the Flash before other than some DC collected digest things my grandma got me around 82) I recently picked up some scattered Mark Waid back issues and they were very interesting (Dark Flash, Terminal Velocity). They had me consulting the Wiki left and right figuring out who the hell all these other speedsters were.
I wonder how they will work Wally into the New 52? I for one would read two Flash books, say one main flash one and another "Family Flash" book with all the different speedsters from different worlds and timelines.
I can't wait for April now to see this team get started as well as Boochipaul on Detective.
Wraith in Superman Unchained does stand for somthing: "William Rudoplh's Ace In The Hole" for the General who convinced Prez Roosevelt to build his trophy room/base/fortress of secretude. It was in issue 3. Hopefully he has a different name that he was known by on his home world, I think we will learn about his race in the next few issues. As it stands every time I read Wraith, I expect him to revel himself to be Charlie Sheen. :)
I like the new costume quite a bit. But as for Ock's arrogance, that will be what takes him down in the end and peter gets re-uploaded or we find out that pete did a octobot induced personality split. Doc Ock was sort of what peter could have been if he didn't have his moral checks and balances. I like to think this is still Pete, but with the morals somehow zapped out so he thinks he is Otto.
Big Echo to most of the posts here. Loved the issue, hated that they made the fold out part of the issue and not a pure Jim Lee art poster. I have been wanting to like a Superman book for a long time and this is the only one I have liked since he fought Ali and that was only because of the drawing with all the celebrities in the audience. Good job on this one but please DC, DO NOT do another insert like this.
Both camps here have great arguments. I am enjoying this story for the moment, but I do feel long term Peter has to be back. This issue just felt like a crucible to forge Peter into a "Superior" spider man later on when he does come back somehow.
@drellassassin: No damage control or explanation of Cage's seemingly increased power set, only that he survived long enough to deliver his information to the remaining heroes.
