@Mighty Monarch a very valid points that Booster Gold didn’t

hit as hard as Green Lantern & that Johns didn’t write all of 52. The point

I was trying to make was the character had a small following but I think there

were a lot of people that saw the character as a joke & that he helped turn

him into this relevant character, in some sense the most important character in

the DCU by guarding the time stream, though no one really knows that he is.

it would be more like lighting striking a 3rd time. with 52 maxi series Johns turned Booster Gold in to a revelent (sp?) character in DC universe.not so much with the new 52

@gambler Pain & Prejudice was really good, bought issue

#1 when I was in a “why not” mood that week and I was blown away, the ending

felt a bit rushed but over all a really good miniseries.

Daniels is an okay writer, he has some really good story

lines, and some mediocre story lines, and a some horrible story lines, I don’t

hate Detective Comics enough to drop it. The Dollmaker story line was good. The

whole Joker’s face being off and a cult rising up, I’m looking forward to

seeing where that is going. I’m giving Detective Comics a year before I decide what

if I’m going to keep it just because Daniels is so up and down in his story

writing. Ideally it would be great to a decent writer doing the stories with Daniels

doing the art and co-plotting

@ltbrd if it were anyone other than Joss Whedon would be

worried. He does a great job balancing character development and action

@zombiepie Joss has worked on projects like Roseanne, Toy

Story, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity… he’s a great story teller. While he’s

only directed a couple of features he has a great track record as a story

teller.

With Serenity he did a great job tying up all the loose ends

from Firefly while still making a film that someone who never watched the

series could follow & enjoy. I know of maybe a half dozen people that saw

Serenity who liked it so much they went out and bought Firefly on DVD.

Long time I learned that things can go from sugar to shit in a heartbeat. Is there a chance the

movie could be bad? Sure it’s possible, but I doubt it. It seems like so many

directors these day have no idea how to tell a story, Joss has that covered.

I’m not sold on Cap’s costume, but everything else looks

awesome

I’m a long time DC reader, and I loved seeing Phantom

Stranger. As a kid I remember him being in the Justice League… never understood

why he was there, but I love the character.

Hate is such a strong word. A lot of batman’s villains are

just “meh”, there are a lot that amazing, others that are borderline great/good

but depends on who is writing. The only ones I can truly say I hate are:

Professor Pyg- at times Morrison is just toooooooooo out

there, character is beyond creepy

Mad Hatter- never really did anything for me, the nursery

rhythms, hints that he’s a pedophile.

Anarky – probably my least favorite Alan Moore creation

I agree that Penguin is great as crime boss, but as actually

villain not so much. I like the Joker a lot but I do think he is over used. Though

I do love what Tony Daniels is doing

with the face, and a cult developing around the face.

@blur1528 I agree, NYC always felt weird for me.

I like the idea of a rebuilt Bludhaven, I loved him having his own city and an arch nemesis in Blockbuster but with everything that DC has done to this point I think he’s going to be in for awhile. Though the idea of travelling with the circus is kind of cool. But IMO he should have his own city
