Another bad Hollywood Godzilla 0

when did Godzilla become about a family disaster ? For a movie titled Godzilla he should have been in it more. All the actors looked traped in the movie, Juliette Binoche was wasted as was Ken Watanabe ... after the long wait since the 1998 mess it didnt get much better. ...

My favorite villain is back. 0

My favorite villain is back.   And with him are some of my favorite Marvel heroes.   How can you go wrong with Thanos, Adam Warlock, Starfox, Moon Dragon and Mantis? I guess just by giving them to Andy Lanning. This is once again such a letdown. I have picked up the Guardians of the Galaxy here and there and find it the same. My favorite characters wasted. And it must be Lanning because I got the same feeling on his run of the Legion of superheroes. It is a mess, poorly edited and laid out. I ...

the waining moon - knight 0

Issue 7 i know Deadpool was there to hype the crap going on with his books.  Issue 8 he is still here and i think killed this series. 7 and 8 are so lousy more than just becouse of Deadpool (can you tell i am no fan?).  Moony's new look has never thrilled me but the nice art and the first arc was pretty cool. But it has all gone flat.  Poor dialog, i don't care for the art.. it's a shame i love Moon Knight, i gues it is time to go back and read the 1980's run....

Hell Yes to Hellblazer.   I read this book way back in the beginning. But at the time I was really into super heroes so I didn ’ t keep up with it. Then the film came out and that ended my intrest all together. I picked Hellblazer up several months ago when the India story line started, jst out of intrest of India. Those four issues were great.   But I had thought that was all I ’ d get. Well then I saw the Sid Viciious image on the cover last month. Being somewhat bored with most of the books ...

Only problem is which title do I drop to add this one. 0

I picked up issue 9 off the new rack last week and loved it.   This week I picked the two issues I could find in the shop, 6 and 7. And I have been equally impressed with issue 6.  March ’ s art is fantastic and the colors by Morey are nice bright. I guess I had not picked up sirens because even though I really like Harley and Ivy I wasn ’ t sure I ’ d want to read them each month. WRONG !!   What’s not to love good twisted characters and awesome art.   Only problem is which title do I drop to...

Nice suprise 0

I had not picked up an issue of Gotham City Sirens till this one (10).  Andi was very suprised. Nice art by GUILLEM MARCH. And for a change a good straight forward read.  I havent read a Riddler story in years either and this reminded me how cool he can be when written well. As Dini has here.   If your not reading GCS might want to check it out.  I 'm glad i did....

Best Spidey i've read in YEARS 0

Inj fact other than issue 600 this is the first new Spider Man i gotten and read in at least 10 years.  It was the cool cover that me to look.  Once i opened up and saw the art of Marcous Martain i didnt care if it had a crappy story. But it isn't crappy in fact it is very good ...   And i have picked the new issues as well (now at 620) and have enjoyed tham just as much....

I want more books like this. 0

I went back recently and read this 12 issue run. I think i enjoyed more now than when it came out.  I think everyone should go out and track these issues down. With War Machine being part of Iron Man 2 it would make a great warm up.  Never has WM been this cool.  Chuck Ausen's art is very cool and all the modifiyed WM's never looked better....

More people should be reading this 0

i really wish more people were reading this limited series. Nice art and a good story make this a great addition to the Battlestar Galactica cannon.  I am not a fan of the new BG stuff. I loved the Maximum pess series years ago. And this new take on the short lived Battlestar Galactica 1980 TV series. Too bad it is only a 4 issue shot....

the NEW Mon-El 0

i have to admit i have been getting tired of the way the Super-books have been going. But htis issue git my hopes for the series. It looks like Mon-El has a new mission and atitude. And this may be a good jumping on point for people not into  the Super-family. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed....

I SO MUCH WANT TO LOVE THIS SERIES 0

Nice art, great heroes and a nice idea.  The longer i read this title the less seems to be going on. I almost feel like the plot is a reason for the art. I like the book but i need more to keep up with it. I am waiting for the issue that really gets the story moving.  Heres hoping it is SOON !...

Good Ol' Bats 0

This issue was pretty darn cool. I was big Batman fan back when Jones doing the book. And this has the came feel. The story itself has a very horror and spooky feel which is nice and a fresh taste for Batman as of late. And is a good flip side to Batman if you are reading the Widening Gyre. I just hope the rest of the series holds up....

WOW 0

Detective hasn't been this good in a long. long time. I love the art and the "new" Batwoman.  Alice is the coolest villian in ages (apart from all the GL stuff going on). I hope it keeps us this interest.  if you aren't reading this    you should be....

What a let down 0

We had to wait what about 3 years (well maybe not that long) for this to be done.  And it ended so lame.I mean the art all along was great and the plot started very nicly but.... It made me feel like all they wanted to do was kill everyone for no good reason. I am so sorry i got into this series....

About as Good as it Gets 0

I really was not interested in the Blackest Night at first. I thought it was going to be a way to bring more dead Heroes back and that was it.  But i got this issue becouse of the last Green Lantern issue.  For starters i was never a fan of Mahnkes work. But somewhere if the last few years he really has gotten very impressive. This issue showcases that very well. He made Elongated man look scarry as hell !!AS long as we are talking about Elongated Man, never liked 'em. But holy S^*T !!   I hope ...

Always happy to see the next issue 0

This run of Green Arrow never lets me down. The Stories are never BIG. Just good old comics.  The bickering team of GA and Black Canary is always interesting. This one ends in a why that that has me wondering just what comes next. Top it off with the Ladronn covers and the new Back up stories with Bill Sienkiewicz art what more can a guy ask for. If you aren't picking this up you should. ...

Great book 0

I grabbed issue 41 and found it to one lousiest books i have ever read. But this issue rocks. I had never read much with the Black Hand and found this "origin" story one best. Very interesting. I just may have to pick up the Blackest Night books now. This issue realy got me interested. ...

Fast Drop 0

I was very suprised with issue one. I had gotten it just have the 1st issue. But was shocked about how good it was. But issue two... Fell with a big thud.  I don't like the mood of the book and i found the story vwery ininteresting. It was nice to see the Spoiler turn up but that still didnt help this book. ...

He’s a Hermaphrodite ?! 0

The longer you read Cerebus the crazier it gets. As Mothers and Daughters winds down we get this revelation..true ? not?  We slip into madness along with our hero. The Female Void vs the Male Light.  Dave Sims never fails to entertain or confuse the reader with his almost biblical story arcs. ...

Starting over again 0

I liked the Tek Novels and the TV show. I never read the other comics... But i think i will continue reading this one. The Art isn't all to pleasing but this issue seems promising. It is too bad to start over from the begining becouse it feels rerun-ish. I hope it will grow and nit get axed to fast. ...

Old School Greatness 0

I picked this up a few days ago. And I am more pleased with this book than most of the new books I got along with it. For less than the cost of a new book I got truly great art (Keith Giffen and Klaus Janson ) and a cool story. I also got Moon Knight and Nick Fury battling it out!!  Add Wonder Man before he got lame and Valkyre and Hellcat as well !!The Defenders original run back issue prices are pretty reasonable and well worth the cost.  For some good old school books try them !!...

Some one explain this issue ! 0

At first I was very intrigued with this story line. I could not wait for it to get going. I kept thinking about the possibilities of who could be the next Batman. Bu this issue confused me. Half the time I could not tell who was saying what to whom. And how the heck the bad guy get Nightwings mask? I hope this arc will end on an interesting note. I would hate for all this hype to end Batman on a dud. ...

So-So 0

I am not sure how I feel about this book. I picked up because back in the day I really liked Jerry Ordway’s work. Partly because he was friends with two of my uncles. And I had meet him at my local comics shop. This book felt a book that I may have picked up 20 years ago. Having not read any other issues oof this run of Brave and Bold I don’t know if that is the feel they are after. If so they really captured it. It was cool to see the Challenger of the Unknown in a book again. But with out that...

Good 80's book 0

Bill Sienkiewicz is a couple years away from letting loose his signature style. But even here his art is fittingly dark. And Moon Knight and Daredevil look great under his pen and ink. Here get Daredevil and Moon knight tracking the same man for their own reasons. And once they meet of course we get the obligatory Hero battle. The book ends with both our heroes laughing. Which is something odd for both DD and MK.Doug Moench’s plot is fast and to the point. Which makes for a fast read. But the Pa...

Good Solid Book 0

I this issue the Bill Sienkiewicz art really shines. Night Crawler and Colossus make guest appearances training the New Mutants. Colossus is helping Sunspot with his combat skills. Kurt is training Cannonball and Sienkiewicz has him looking cooler than ever. Sam is struggling over the fact that the other team members are looking up to him as a leader. This issue also sees Rahne writing a fairy tale. Which lends it self to Bills art. And some nice frames of Dagger, of Cloak and Dagger. This issue...

Heroes 0

Man going back rereading this issue was a kick. 1983, comics were $.60 ahh the good old days. Chris Claremont was in top form. Sal Busema and Bob McLeod art.Lilandra and Professor X were a happy couple. Professor X was almost walking, still fighting some phantom pain in his legs but he could take a few steps. In this Issue the New Mutants take a much needed break and go to a carnival. And find Team America performing. And get caught in an attack by Silver Samurai. Which ends with Moonstar get...

thud a Starlin dud 0

I have to say I am disappointed with this series. I am a huge Jim Starlin fan. I don’t think I have ever been let down by anything he has done. I almost did a cartwheel when I first heard he was taking on the New Gods. It was a formula for perfection for me. Starlin, the New Gods, Superman and another epic saga. Not that I don’t like it 100%. It just has not lived up to my hopes. Once the killer was reviled in this issue I was like.. so. I still love Jim’s art. But some how the dialog seems of...

More fun Flash 0

I read this after picking up issue 235. Being surprised that issue I went and picked up a few previous one. And was similarly entertained by them. I like the some what lighter tone of this book. Yet being a father of a son and a daughter I kind can imagine being in Flashes situation. And for once a superheroes kids are a nice addition to the book. I hope they do keep the kids with the title. As well as the creative team. If it wasn’t for the price of everything going nuts the Flash certainly wo...

what a surprise 0

I just picked up this issue and what a surprise it was. Back in the day my best friend read Flash and I used to laugh at him. But every now and them I would pick one up and for the most part enjoyed them. But I was shocked on this issue. Not that it is anything earth shattering or Character changing. But I like art and felt it fit very well. I am now very interested in what I haven’t known about Mr. West for the last 8 years or so. Kids? With Abilities? Now I must find at least the back issues ...

Very Cool 0

This book was great! I wish I still had my copies. Very Violent and gritty. The art was good and the dialog pretty raw. I never like the War Machine in the regular Marvel Universe. But in this MAX universe it was totally cool.In this series In the non-canon MAX miniseries U.S. War Machine, Rhodes is fired by Stark after War Machine kills two hostage takers on national TV, one in cold-blood. After his dismissal, Rhodes is attacked by former War Machine pilot Parnell Jacobs in an attempt to recov...

Adult Archie 0

Cherry Poptart. This title was funny. A kind of adult Archie comics. Cherry was the town naughty girl. She found herself in all kinds of interesting positions (every pun intended) with all kinds of freaky people. Like in one issue Cherry's hacker girlfriend Ellie Dee is the main star. When she gets sucked through her computer into the Land of Woz, she meets up with a walking mass of data looking for a central processing unit, a Transformer robot in need of a DNA code, and a genetically-enginee...

Super Action !! 0

I am really enjoying the Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes story-arc. I have been away from comics for about 4 years. What great way to come back in. I am enjoying the art as well the plot. It is a great idea to have the Rejects get some revenge, Geoff Johns makes it look easy to revitalize lame characters. Everything I like about Superman is here. Most importantly what I don’t like isn’t here. After all the book isn’t called the Clark Kent Chronicles.I big kick out the fact that each tim...

Cool 0

I used to dig through bins at second hand shops to find issues of Dagar. It may have been a Conan knock off but the art of Ernie Chan was great. The stories are light and a good read. I wish someone would do a reprint collection of these issues. Goldkey of this time were some of the most fun in comics. His comic lasted 18 quarterly issues, the last of which (December, 1976) reprinted the first issue. Dagar was a typical barbarian hero of his genre. Big and brawny, fearless in battle, not espec...

This started it for me. 0

I had read comics since I was little but this issue really got me into it. The art and the story had such a punch. At the time I had never seen anything like it.Bill Sienkiewicz still holds allot of interest for me. If his art is on it I want it. This run of Moon Knight more defind comics for me. And untill Marvel went nuts with the Anti-hero Moon Knight was the best. At this period I found it much more enjoyable then Batman. Who Moon Knight is said to be a cheap knock off of....
