Considering his history, I doubt HE would do the sequel.  He would probably get someone else to direct and he'd just produce.

Anything a little more mature.  I've had my fill of the fun, kid friendly, annoying stuff for a while.  It was fun in the 80s, but it's just getting stupid now.

I usually like costume changes, but only if they are semi-permanent.  I'm not into a run of a costume in 2-5 books and then it vanishes.  Also, there should usually be a story reason for the change not just to have a new costume because it looks cool.
