This might sound ridiculousl. Did I spell that right, I'm drinking? What ever. The Dark Knight Rises is coming out soon. The title is already taken from an issue of DKR. I just wonder what he film will have in it from the story. Watchmen came out and people either loved it or hated it. I was never a huge fan of the book, but I know this. It's because of something that I don't get. It's classic, and I won't argue that. Not at my age. People can have their tastes. Growing up a fan tho I was always heard this argument. Which is better. Dark Knight Returns or Watchmen. I'm a DKR fan. I did like the Watchmen movie and thought that anyone that is a fan of the book should be happy with how well the film was. Sure there were fans that bitched and complained. expected from fanboys. What ever. I saw and thought that Snyder should do DKR. He was faitful to Watchmen enough that I would asume he would be to DKR. The only thing in DKR that he might not be faithful to is Reagon as prez, but then again his portayle (spelled wrong) is that of humor.........sort of............It also has the cold war in it which many of you don't even remember so Reagon might be in it. The Joker did not die in the Dark Knight. Supposedly Batman will be finished at the end of Nolans trilogy. Does't matter. DKR, like the comic, is a stand alone. It could work on film too. Batman on film is now a serious character so making a .......side film so to speak...........could still work. After all, Batman does not exist so DKR could be made. Plus Superman is in it. I think they should make it. Studios would make insane money just by selling the fact that Batman and Superman will fight. My question is tho. Who could play Batman as an old man. He's 50 in the book but looks 60 at times. I saw "The Thomas Crown Affair". When I saw him as a rich dude and pimped out stealing a "work of art" I thought of Bruce Wayne. I didn't think of Batman. Batman is easy to play, Bruce Wayne is not. Peirce is a good if not great actor. He's proven his versatily. He could easily do an older good looking playboy. If there is one thing Bruce Wayne is, it's good looking. He can do a bad guy "tailor of Panama" Batman is not a badguy but an older Bruce needs to be played like he's a nutjob, because one thing DKR displays is Batman as a crazy mother fucker. and he is. Who do you think could play the rolls in the movie. An older Joker, Bruce Wayne (not Batman), and Superman. Remember........................................all are older.

I am a HUGE Millar fan. Sure some people hate him, but there is a hater for every writer out there. Right now tho, I don't think there is more successful, in terms of marketing and MONEY making then he is. That's another subject all together. My point is this. When Morrison, I love also, started writing X-Men, he just killed it for me. I was amazed at how he handled the JLA, and he without a doubt got me buying DC books. I owned a few trades here and there of course. My all time favorite is DKR and I wasn't even collenting Batman. Anyway. I stopped buying any X related books till the guy at the comic shop handed me a soft covered "yearly best of" collection of the 1st 3 Ultimate X-Men books for free and said "Read it". I found, not only my new book but my X-Men book. I collected Ultimate X-Men after that (till Millar left and it went to crap) I have a ton of reasons why it was just so genious, and I might actually start a forum on that along. What ever. 1 day while picking up my monthly Ult. X-Men book my ever so faithful comic store employee handed me a trade of Millars "The Ultimates" I didn't collect any Avengers but thru this it was a great way of jumping on. I was floored to see Millar was the writer. I think at the time Bendis was the only other writer not on a single book. Bendis was on Ult Spider-man and D.D. I boutght it. great jumping on point. To my delight it was better then Ult. X-Men. Sure I knew the history of the Avengers, I'm a comic dork like you people but this was magic. After all of that I saw a trade with one of the coolest covers................EVER! Wesley Gibson in FULL attire. The kicker was that it was written by Mark Millar. I bought it on the spot. I loved it. It's soooo good. It has my favorite quote of ALL time in any comic, movie, book, etc. "I don't fuck goats, I make love to them" Anyway. I wikied it and to my amazement discovered something that I can't believe I didn't notice. The world of "Wanted" was a world of the Multi-verse. I wondered why Millar used so many cheesy name to describe his character and found out on Wiki that the story is actually one of Deadshot inbetween a war of the Joker and Lex Luthers. Sure I noticed some of the references but didn't notice that one. What goes does is just so great I had to make this forum. Then I read another thing. For those of you that hate Millar you'll hate him even more because this but won't be able ti deny his brilliance. He had J.G. Jones draw Wesley to look like Emenem. Emenem was huge at the time and Millar started a rumor saying that Emenem was starring as Weslley in the film version. There was no film deal at the time. He did it to sell the book, but the genious part was that he said Emenem didn't turn the part down. How could he. He was never offered the roll. So it wasn't a lie. What ever. just read the book, know it's the multi-verse, and look for the Batman/Superman referneces. Also notice the charters you do know inked in another color. They were actually used as homage. It's just silly good.

First off let me explain my situation. I own a business with a lot of down time. Im in front of the computer a lot, and honestly if it I didn't I would have never discovered Comicvine which I am on ....................EASILY...................daily, but more like 5 times a day. Anyway. Someone on here told me about HTML comics. A website where there was a HUGE amount of comics to read digitally. With the free time I had I was like a FUCKING CRACK HEAD. I don't think there were any books more recent then 5 months. Anyway. Because I own a business and I have bills, my comic budget was at it's peak. I started reading books I didn't own and because of it I tripled my budget. No lie. I bought a lot of trades because I need to own. HTML worked out that I now read way more books then I had before. It worked backwards for me. One thing it did was make my choices easier. All the books that I wanted to pick up that I didn't because I got sick of buying books that sucked and me skeptical, it let me weed thru the ones I missed out on. Bittorrentz are a similar situation. I have to own. I just do. I re-read so many books it's not funny. Then DC came out with 52 NEW books. FUCK THAT!! I don't have the cash to buy 52 books for at least 3 or 4 months just to check them out and see what's good. Also DC is not stupid. Most of these books are 6 month into stories so I have to get all of them before making my choice. Great idea by the way DC, brilliant. Anyway. I bought what I usually buy (a lot) and downloaded the rest. I now buy more books then my previous budget. It help out hugely. My question is this tho. Sure downloading is bad, I don't agree with it, but with the price of books at the price they are. Is it bad to download books JUST to see if they are good or not. I don't think so. I think it helps. I'm wondering what you people think.

I actually started this forum because I've been (like most of us) have been watching "Comic Book Men" First off the show wasn't what I thought it was going to be, but because I kept watching it I really like. I also "get it" now. Anyway. After 4 episodes (I'm slow) I realized that there was a podcast. I googled the Kevin Smiths podcast and listened to the ones related to Comic Book Men and it's AWSOME. As a comic fan it's really great. It's funny, it's no hards bard, and it's full of comic talk. From what I have listened to tho, I don't know if Kevin Smith doesn't know as much about comics as he comes off as, or if he's playing to the audience. Either way. It's funny, and it's great. If anyone has any other podcasts comic related to listen too for free, then let me know. I don't pay for podcasts. Not when I have the comic collecting budget I do.

@Onemoreposter: Franklin is still soooooo damn young. Sooner or later they'll do something with him. I'm surprised they haven't has other (multi-verse) Franklin come into the 616 as a bad guy. That sure could work.

It sucks that someone didn't tell Scarlette to use a Russian accent. She's cold war. The problem I'm having is the Hawkeye and Cap didn't get along. From what Ive read and can see in the trailers is the bickering will be between Cap and Stark. I don't think Hawkeye is going to get the screen time he deserves or the proper development he deserves. He's just gonna be Fury's lackey and that's gay. Renner can act. He can act with attitude. Hopefully Wheddon, a comic lover, will know this and do the right thing.

I guess none of you people are reading the Ultimates right now then? Then again my prediction as the Prof. X, Mags, Wolverine and Cyclops will all come back someday anyway.

I loved it. I got my mind whirling. I have no idea about the Phantom Stranger as it was so this got me curious about him as well. 1 character from before the revamp who knows about it's existance. Curious. I don't think she answers to anyone either. I think she's doing all alone, but she's defecting from someone or some type of order. Who also has more judgement powers then Spectre? I always thought he answered to God? Pandora is a Greek Myth character and the box??????????????? We all know that story.

I don't see anyone training him for a while. Let us get to know Miles first before the book is filled with guest stars. The learning to be Spider-man is the fun part of the book so far.
