The current Captain America isn't the same one as the original.   The current Cap (Bucky Barnes) inherited the mantle because he was the sidekick of the original Cap (Steve Rogers).   Bucky's peachy when it comes to killing because he was first and foremost a soldier.   Brainwashing seems to be a recurring problem in the Cap family (Sharon Carter, Grand Director, Jack Monroe) and Bucky is no exception except Bucky was brainwashed by the Soviets and killed Americans in their name.    The book isn't currently on my pull-list but my guess is someone revealed that America's symbol has previously killed those that he was meant to protect.

The acceptance of Wolverine has always been a little murky.   It seems nowadays he doesn't kill unless he's in the company of like-minded heroes (X-Force) or if he feels that the ends will justify the means.   His archetype is more of a ronin samurai then a feral warrior now.

I don't know if this would work in Nolan-verse but Talia al Ghul could masquerade as a socialite that dates Bruce's socialite persona and then try to destroy Wayne Corp from the inside out.

You said it perfectly.    Part of the problem is that the writers don't highlight that aspect of Supes enough with his villains.   For example, some of Captain America's best villains in my opinion were self-proclaimed patriots with different views on what it means to be American (Grand Director, Henry Peter Gyrich, Punisher).   I think DC needs to do something similar to highlight Superman's values.   Not all problems can be solved with muscle.

DC needs to show that invulnerability is not enough and that Superman is who he is out of strength of character and not of genes.    Take Captain America for example.   Sure he's super strong but his appeal comes from the fact that he stands for a particular set of values and will fight to defend them in various ways.   Some of Cap's best stories aren't strictly brawlers but involve questions of patriotism and American values.

Like other people have mentioned, a hero is only as good as his rogues gallery.   There needs to be an opposite to define him/herself against.   The Batman-Joker example is the perfect example in that Bats refuses to kill his nemesis.   Captain America likewise has some excellent foes in the other American patriots (Grand Director, Peter Gyrich).

Instead of trying to modernize Superman again, DC should reinforce his identity as the boyscout.   My generation, the millennial generation, has a hard time relating to him because masculinity is no longer about being a shining example of goodness.   It's about being a cocky and dangerous son of a gun.    It's why Wolverine and Deadpool are so popular with the masses right now.   Many of the other heroes connect back to this archetype on some level.   Iron Man is a cocky jerk and Batman is a dark soul who has an answer for everything.

To summarize, Superman's stories need to be less about brawling and more about defining his strength of heart.

Oh wow, I had to google that cover and found a synopsis of the story here.   It's positively ridiculous.

Clones don't bug me as much as multi-dimensional get-togethers ala Captain Britain Corps.   I always feel like the writers make the characters put on red Star Trek uniforms.

I love how Medphyll and NautKeLoi are the same figure apart from swapped heads.   Was hoping the movie would try to make the aliens actually look more alien but that's probably too much to ask :/
