How Not to be an Asshole at Q&A Sessions
By gia 1 Comments
I wrote this piece for Anime Vice, but with the exception of my examples, I left it pretty non-specific. Why? Because these douchebags who waste valuable Q&A time appear at ALL conventions, be they for anime, comics, video games, serial killers, or technical support.
So please, for the sake of fandoms everywhere, read How Not to be an Asshole at Q&A Sessions. And when you're done reading it, Digg it. Because it can only make a difference if other people read it!
Digg Anime Vice's Interview with Peter Craig!
By gia 0 Comments
So, I spent a lot of time cold-calling Hollywood people in hopes of scoring an interview related to the Cowboy Bebop film-- and lucky for me, I struck gold getting to interview scriptwriter Peter Craig!
If you guys enjoyed the interview, I would *really* appreciate a bit of help on Digg, if you have a moment to do so-- or to just pass it on to a friend who you know Diggs, if you don't yourself. :)
Thanks!

Thought this might be up some of your alleys. We're pretty excited for the Fat Princess game over at Anime Vice. And we love you if you watch it! <3
We love you extra if you digg it too!
Meet the Mighty Morphin' Action Movie Rangers
By gia 0 Comments
Oh, my poor, neglected Comic Vine user blog! Maybe now that I have a couple of writers helping me out over at Anime Vice, I'll have more time to spend on stuff here and at Giant Bomb <3<3
Speaking of new writers at Anime Vice, I'm trying to get everyone to digg GodLen's recent feature, "10 Groups I'd Like to See as Power Rangers Before I Die," which includes, among other things, a group of nothing but Red Rangers that includes Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Steven Segal, and Bruce Willis. Mwahaha.
So if any of you guys here at Comic Vine want to help give Len a warm, wet, sloppy, drunk Whiskey Media welcome, help us out! Digg it, share it with your friends. <3
Curiosity kills the gia: A western comics anthology?
By gia 4 Comments
In Japan, people usually buy chapters of various manga collected together into a single phonebook-size anthology, to get their immediate fix on the plot...these books are usually disposed of and they buy the series they want to reread later, in the "tankobon" (equivalent to a TPB) format.
As comic fans fret about the prices of their individual chapters, do you think a system like this could ever work for works in the US? People I've talked to seem doubtful. You can read more about the idea (not mine-- Tim Seeley's) here. I'm curious as to what you guys, the comics fans, think!
Obama's Town Halls vs Comic Con: More Similar Than You'd Think
By gia 1 Comments
Man, I don't get around over here often enough at ALL! @_@ Getting the Vice established keeps me pretty busy ;)
But I did find time (on a plane) to write a short 'essay' on some of the similarities of President Obama's town hall meetings on the economy and the Q&A sessions that take place at conventions. Thought some of you might find it interesting, so here it is! :) (And hey, if you want to digg it, all the better!)
Screw You, MTV!
By gia 4 Comments
MTV has take it upon themselves to make fun of anime geeks, by transforming one from a cool anime nerd into a boring pop girl on Made-- not to mention the incredibly pathetic "Otaku Week" on MTV2 (*shudders*).
I want to stick it to 'em by getting people to nominate anime characters (like Gurren Lagann's Kamina or Cowboy Bebop's Spike Spiegel) for their Greatest Badass of All Time award. For the details, click here-- or if you REALLY want to help, Digg this!
