My X-Men Dream Team

as the title states, this is a list for my absolute favorite x-men and that if they were all on the same team it would just be a fun read almost every issue. there's quite a number of characters, but it is the x-men after all (plus i'm sure they've had more members than this on an actual team). i'll even list my reasons why i think they'd be needed!

i'm not a big overused x-member fan, but some i just can't help myself with (i promise: no wolverine).

List items

  • i don't care what anyone says; it's just not the x-men without xavier thrown into the mix. i can't remember the last time he was in an issue where at least one person didn't crap on him for something he's done. the good does outweigh the bad. he started the x-men, so he should be somewhat at the helm to some degree.

  • havok is one of my all time favorite characters ever. even the name lets you know this is someone who isn't going to mess around. both cyclops' old boyscout routine and current megalomaniac shtick don't really sit well with me. but whenever the other summers brother has lead a team, it's been a little more consistent. sure, he has a temper, but he is more than ready to put that in check when the call is made.

  • with gambit on a team, it just adds a bit of cool. he's someone who doesn't let his emotions get in the way of the mission and has experience in stealth that can be put to great use.

  • psylocke was one of my first favorite female comic characters. she may not be omega-level in the realm of being a telepath, but she can get the job done. and she's a ninja! someone who can make decisions, usually has a clear head and can kick wolverine-amount of ass.

  • he was recruited to a black ops team for his tracking skills, he has punched a sentinel to the ground, and his goddamn name is warpath. why wouldn't you want him on your team?

  • every team needs a speedster. for whatever reason if they're taking their sweet time, at least one person can get there in a flash. northstar is mostly seen as pompous, but when he does care he shows it to a great degree.

  • SHE CONTROLS THE WEATHER! with her god-like abilities, she still comes across as caring for her teammates and kindhearted. she is someone who any member can turn to. she also has experience as a leader and co-leader on x-teams.

  • always one to make with the funny (it's more crucial than you think), madrox also has the ability to sort of instantly give you an army at the drop of a hat.

  • one of my all time favorite powers is ones that have to do with electricity to some magnitude (couldn't tell you why). surge needs gauntlets just to make sure she doesn't overload. she makes sure to watch the backs of anyone that's part of her unit.

  • well, you wouldn't so much know it right now, but colossus was one of the most compassionate and docile x-men to ever be a part of the group. he tussled whenever the situation called for it and would only do it outside of fighting for fooling around. he is easily one of the strongest x-men, and possibly characters in the marvel u (especially with the current juggernaut powers added on)

  • whenever i read anything on cannonball i always imagine a character from cheers. sort of like a kid brother to everyone he's on a team with and always holds what is best for his friends and teammates above all else.

  • m is a bitch. plain and simple. but she also comes in handy considering she has several powers and each one of them can be quite helpful in numerous situations.

  • iceman is one of the very first x-men. he has also been noted as an omega-level which puts him way up there on list of people you don't want to fight. he's always been somewhat of a clown, but since teaching with wolverine you can tell he's gotten a little more serious.

  • the x-men need a teleporter. what if they need to get out of a tight jam and their backs are against the wall? one that just so happens to know some magic, have some enchanted tools and isn't lacking entirely in the empathy department is also a plus.

  • yet another omega, but in the department of healing, which as a team that constantly gets into scrapes day in and day out can't hurt to have around.

  • a very powerful telekinetic is always a welcome addition on a team. especially when it's a person who everyday you'd flip a coin on guessing whether he'd be a nice guy that day or a complete dick.

  • mercury's body is made entirely out of a bio-liquid-metal (like the t-1000!). she can form and contort her body to do all sorts of things such as increasing her size in varying ways and turning her hands into weapons (like the t-1000!) another member who'd be overly concerned with the well-being of the members of her team.

  • kitty has absolute control and understanding of her phasing powers. what would also make her a valued asset is the fact that she's also a genius and would be the group's go-to brain.

  • this is more of an honorable mention. x-23 belongs on an x-team and seeing as she doesn't want to be living in wolverine's shadow and still feels she has much to atone for, being on a team such as this wouldn't hurt. i promised there'd be no wolverine, but you do need a general scrapper and if you're going to get one, x-23 is a good option.

Havok is a bit of a surprise. I would have picked Cyclops over him
