Everyone is going bananas over Avengers right now. I've always been a massive Avengers fan (big team-book fan too) so I figured why not make a list of my favorite Avengers (I'll add descriptions as to why at some point, I think?)
Now, I like Cap. Think he's terrific and no team is ever quite the same without him, but no, he's not on this list. Sorry if that offends someone, somehow.
People like to say Captain America doesn't have powers but does extremely well with the Avengers. No, THIS GUY doesn't have any thing close to powers. But what does he bring to the table? Pinpoint accuracy with a bow and, as you find out during any desperate times, he's also very skilled with other weapons as well.
I like hot-headed leaders who have to overcome whatever it is they must for the greater good. I sort of hate how suddenly over-popular he has become considering he's been one of my absolute favorites since I was little, but for me, I can never get tired of Hawkeye.
