I think its bad writing when you go from a girl who basically will do anything to keep you safe (ie kill) then go to someone who says that there is NOTHING between them is bad writing. Yes Julian has been majorly mishandled by Marvel. But first off don't blame Mike Carey for Julian. He had a plan for Jules, but alas he never got a chance too see it through.

But going back to the topic at hand (hehehe), if she had told Julian what she had told Gambit I think a lot of people would less angry with the whole situation. But How in a span of maybe a dozen issues you go from risking your soul/killing someone/ect to saying there is nothing between them.

Just my opinion. I personally think Liu is a great writer, but the stuff she's put out in the last year and a half too two years has just been bad. Still love her work with Daken though.

I am really looking forward to this film. In my opinion you really can't compare this to Avengers any more than the protagonist in both films wearing costumes. Its like comparing the best beer you've ever had (Avengers) with an aged wine that you only bring out for special occasions (Batman Franchise). Neither is better and you can't really compare the two.

He's not dead. His eardrums were ruptured. Same thing happened when he fought the Hulk in the World War Hulk X-Men tie-in. And guess who wrote that....Christos Gage, the same guy whose writing Legacy

Great, so now we can have deaf handless emo Hellion. I know he'd heal from it, but it takes time. I wonder if he'll get floating metal ears in the meantime.

This is really dumb. Not only has Hellion somehow along the way forgotten how to shield himself with TK, but he's also ceased to learn. Oh Marvel, Marvel, Marvel... -___-

Actually i called out Gage out on Twitter and he admitted he rehashed the idea cuz he couldn't come up with a better one

Not too spoil your fun Mat, but Freeman is the son of one of Jango's clones that went A-Wall. See Star Wars: Blood Ties: A Tale of Jango & Boba. This is the sequel to that story. Though we will be seeing Boba's ex-wife and daughter in this series

Rick hit gold with idea of turning Flash into Venom. I'm an Eddie purist but I'm starting to think Flash might dethrone Eddie as the best Venom.

To all my fellow Hellion fan out on comicvine, I think we can all agree that our boy Jules needs a positive role model to help him out of the hole that’s been dug for him. Now we all know that most of the faculty at the JGSFHL doesn’t think much of Hellion save for maybe Rogue…but I personally think Julian needs a male mentor figure so I got to thinking and I came up with an interesting idea. Let me lay the groundwork for you folks so it doesn’t seem that crazy.

I was a big X-Man fan back in the 90s(still an X-Man fan today), and one of my favorite things was when Nate would hang out with Spider-Man. In a couple of ways Peter became kinda of a surrogate older brother figure to Nate. They had some fun adventures and more importantly Nate learned a lot about being a hero from Peter.

Now also back in the 90s I was a HUGE fan of Venom (and I am still a fan of Venom today), but when Gargan become Venom…I lost some interest. But when Rick Remenber started writing Venom and made Flash Thompson the new host of Venom; it hit me.

Flash should mentor Julian.

Both characters are extremely similar, both have been bullies in the past, both are also double amputees. Flash lost his legs, Julian lost his hand. And most importantly besides their character flaws both are still great characters.

So think about it.

Do you think Venom would be an interesting mentor for Hellion?

and please ,it's not pointless ,you just don't understand

My view of Julian is the guy who started out as a bully because he was really unsure of himself, but as he realized he didn't have to be a jerk, he dropped the act when things got serious. He's always there for his friends and is probably the most loyal of the X-kids (except for X-23). He's also shown that--although he used to think money and fame were important--his friends are much more so.

I personally believe that Hellion was the way he was in the beginning of Academy X due to how he was raised by his folks and his relationship with them as well as his older brother James. In the databooks it said that Julian was the black sheep of the family and he acted out to get attention from his parents because ether a) they were praising James or b) they were preoccupied with their money/social status to truly care about him. Julian IMO is very much a product of how he was raised. To me Julian got his pride from his parents, Sounds cliche but more often than not cliche is true.
