My Day at New York Comic Con

Hey, all my awesome friends on comic vine! I just spent all day at NYCC and I'd like to tell you all how it went and all the cool stuff I saw :)

-Lets see. We get there somewhat early. Earlier than the doors open, anyway. Saw a LOT of cosplayers. I kind of felt left out cause my friends and I didn't do it. Next year.

-After an hour of standing in line, we're finally in the buiding! Hooray! First stop? GL: The Animated Series premier. I'm wearing my GL T-shirt :D

-GL's animated series was awesome. I'll admit I wasn't on board with the 3D treatment, but it really worked here. Kilowag was amazing. Hal had personality. It was fantastic. After the screening, Bruce Timm came out and did a Q&A. He's a charming dude :)

- For the next few hours, we browsed through all the booths. I got New Avengers #1, Avengers (1998) #1, and Fantastic Four: 3, all for $6! What a great bargain. And the trades were buy one get two free! I'll take advantage of it next time.

-Artist Alley was incredible. I met Greg Horn and he signed two pictures for me! Framing those bad boys this week. I was literally shaking I was so excited. He's one of my absolute favorites. I also bought an Alex Ross sketchbook that he signed at the SDCC. He wasn't at NYCC. Bummer. At least the sketchbook is beautiful. :)

- Next was the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom panel. They announced all kinds of things like alternate costumes, new characters, game modes, and all that other cool stuff. I'm not a gamer, but it was still pretty sweet. I dipped out early so I could get in line for...

-Marvel Television! I knew Marvel was doing some good things in this department, but jeeze, this stuff looked awesome. Jeph Loeb was the speaker and he was talking about how Marvel's doing aka Jessica Jones (with Carol Danvers and Luke Cage), The Hulk, Cloak and Dagger, and Mockingbird (one that I'm STILL not convinced with). Then he took us into the animation dept where the motion comics are getting some love. Whedon's and Cassidy's Astonishing X-Men run will be finished! And then came Ultimate Spider-Man. Hoooooolllllyyyyyy shhhhhhhhhh**********tttttttt! If you liked Spectacular Spider-Man, you ain't seen nothing yet. The animation is phenomenal (it's from the dudes from Ben 10). What made it work so well for me was the voice actors. Drake Bell pulls off Spider-Man so well. Freaking J. Jonah Jameson is J.K. Simmons. AHHHHHHH!!!!! And Agent Colson is gonna be in the show. As a SHIELD agent AND as Peter's principal. Neat! We watch some footage from the show and it looks incredible. Norman Osborn, Dr. Doom and Venom were the notable villains I recognized. Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America will all make guest appearances as well. Note* I don't think this is the same universe as Avengers: EMH. Agent Colson himself even made a surprise appearance! He was really happy to be there and the crowd was REALLY happy to see him. Speaking of Avengers: EMH... WE SAW THE SEASON 2 PREMIER!!!!! Oh my God was it awesome. The FF make a guest appearence (and it's significantly important, too!) I don't wanna spoil it, but Hulk+Thing=Extreme Comedy, and a certain doctor is plotting and scheming something big. Oh, and not everyone is who they say they are!

-Unfortunately, this is where the fantasy good times end. The IGN theater is booked, and we can't see the Sony, Walking Dead or the Avengers panels. All because the stupid line was so stupidly wrong. It was stupid. ...I wanted to see Avengers footage so bad :(

Ah well, it'll probably leak on youtube anyways. So that was my day! It was awesome and I can't wait to go again. Now that I know the ropes, I'll be better prepared for next time. If you have any questions about the footage I saw, feel free to ask! :D
