Didn't you mean "Morrison is a great fan of silver age characters and concepts"? Multiple universes, New Gods, and wacky hallucinatory Batman adventures that must be locked away in the "Black Casebook," that's all from the silver age, not the golden age. Morrison has some affection for the first years of superheroes, but he's way more passionate about the mind-bending sci-fi of the silver age.

Multiversity should be enjoyable, though it sounds like a shorter version of Seven Soldiers, with more well-known characters thrown into it.

I think that EVERY character death should be permanent. I really respect that in the Ultimate Marvel Universe, they've killed off cash cows like Wolverine and Peter Parker and moved on. It's great when you commit to that, and tell the stories of the world left behind.

The whole approach of killing/reviving every major character over the last 20 years for temporary sales boosts is gross. This soap opera gimmick is a recent trend that comics writing shouldn't stoop to. There would be a lot fewer hero deaths, if they were forever. I won't make any friends by writing the following, but Barry Allen, Hal Jordan, and Jason Todd should have all remained buried. Nothing I've read since their revivals really justifies reviving them. There were always more interesting stories to tell with Wally West, Kyle Rayner, and the various other Robins/ex-Robins. The most interesting thing about those three was that they were dead, and how their survivors would continue to deal with that.

How long will Jordan's "new" death last? Six months? Three months? It's so routine now, like going in for a teeth cleaning.

My avatar would like to remind you all that The Shade #12 is THE must-buy comic this week! The full origin will finally be told.

He'll forgive your omission. This time.

So DC sold the rights back to Archie? Sounds like things are going well for the books this time around, seems like decent stuff for young readers to start with.

I'm still just about the only person on Earth still holding a candle for the "!mpact Comics" incarnations from the 90's. Particularly the approach to The Black Hood concept: http://www.comicvine.com/black-hood/29-76166/ A hood that curses people to fight injustice, passing from person to person, ruining their lives? Love it.

I have yet to find a female comedians I find funny.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Considering that the sentence is grammatically incorrect, it would be VERY easy to say it better. Just saying.

Wonder Woman more in charge? On the first cover, WW has Superman tied up in her ropes. Here, he is gripping her throat... from behind.

Not that I mind either pose, I just take my comic book light bondage very seriously!

awesome! was that just me, or did i see hush at 1:12?

That is definitely not Hush. If you haven't read Dark Knight Returns yet I recommend you fix that ASAP. It's right up there with Watchmen as one of the most influential comics ever, for good reason! Then you'll know who is under those bandages.

Jeff Lemire said he's working on a new project for DC. Maybe he's replacing Morrison on Action. If thats the case then that would be pretty awesome.

When wracking my brain for a writer that could take the helm of Action, Lemire seems to be the only one who fits. He can really cut loose with wacky super-science, as the first few issues of Frankenstein show. I think he could do a more cheerful version of that cosmic craziness in Action Comics.

Though maybe Grant has already got the job for Sholly Fisch. I'm not feeling his backup stories too much, but he may have been groomed to take over the main feature all along...

That is a real bummer. Just over a year of Superman stories worth reading...

I'm still going to enjoy his future, less cape-focused projects. And I don't partake in anything heavier than a beer, but I bet this "MorrisonCon" will have the best drugs ever!

As far as the movies go, I am certain that a reboot and tonal shift is next for Batman. I'd like to see JGL continue the legacy as Batman the Second, or Nightwing, or something entirely new. But Nolan doesn't want to, and Warner Bros. don't want to offend him by letting other people play with his universe. He made Warner a jillion dollars with Dark Knight/Inception/DK Rises, and they want to keep him happy and making them golden eggs!

I wouldn't hold any ill will towards a reboot in three or four years either. There are pretty much infinite ways to portray the character.
