Like my TV adaptation list, I’ve put together a growing list of books and/or story arcs that would make a great movie. At the moment I’ll just put the comic, if I’ve got time I’ll do some dream casts or directors. Jeez, that would take me forever…
Her miniseries was really good and like most comics would serve as a storyboard for the movie. It’s easy, just rip the pages out, pin them to the board, done! You’ve got a storyboard. I doubt Marvel would be able to make it their way though since Fox still has the X-Men franchise, which has a blanket of ownership over anything mutant related. It would take some sly writing to pull it off. The Captain America cameo ties X-23 to the rest of the Marvel U.
I’ll be honest, I don’t know a lot about this dude. I only found out recently that he’s black. Kidding. Seriously though, picture T’Challa in the role of Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. Move the action to Wakanda and done. That’s the best I can do at he moment since I don’t know a lot about the character. I’ve always like the look of BP though.
What more can I say? It’s big and epic, franchise potential. Hollywood, make it!
Another that would benefit from a larger budget that TV could not.
One of the coolest comics I’ve read in the past few years. Seriously. This story plays out like an action/espionage movie and is short enough for a movie rather than a TV show. This movie would serve as a better setup (or parallel piece) for a G.I. Joe movie than that crappy Rise of Cobra POS.
Since I’m on the subject, reboot (man I hate that Hollywood buzzword) this franchise. The Chuck Dixon IDW series has been nothing short of awesome. It’s a lot more high-tech and sci-fi than the previously mention Cobra series, but it’s still nothing like the over the top ridiculousness that was Rise of Cobra. Get a director of Ridley Scott’s caliber, that knows how to film realistic military action (ala Black Hawk Down), and you have a summer blockbuster.
Again with the reboot… (sigh). Bar anyone that shoots a movie like Michael Bay, and get some solid writers that won’t tarnish my childhood memories.
I would love to see this as a TV series, but the amount of special effects would put the budget through the roof. For a movie though, it would be par. Can you imagine a Weta or Jim Henson creature extravaganza?
Great comic that could be a cross between Inception and an old Bogart noir flick as directed by Guillermo del Toro.
