Bobby should be straight purely because he always has been, for over fifty years. I have never cared about the sexuality of a character but I do however have a problem with long established characters being changed (Whatever that change may be) Bobby being changed was wholly unnecessary especially since there are already several gay characters associated with the X-Men that nobody has ever had any issues with (Karma, North Star, Bling, Anole, Greymalkin etc.)

Personally I would have found it far more interesting if the young time displaced Bobby was gay and the original 616 Bobby remained straight (Now that we know they're not from the same timeline)

No, they are coming from the same timeline. In the last issue before the relaunch to X-men Blue, they all went back to the past but couldn't stay there because the past corrected itself and created another version of themselves in order to stabilize the timeline. If they come from an alternate universe, there wouldn't be a need for that universe to create a copy of them to maintain timeline consistence.

Now that Iceman is confirmed to be gay, it's not like they could push him back in the closet again when there's an arc in his book about him trying to come out to his parents.

I'm not saying they could 'un-gay' Bobby, (And let's face it even if Marvel decided to actually do something the vast majority of long term fans wanted for once the force of the SJW outrage would reach supernova levels) My point was that they shouldn't have done it in the first place, it was silly and unnecessary.

@moogman13: Even the 'cultural appropriation' argument isn't applicable in this case, K'un-Lun is a mystical city state in another dimension founded by aliens. Also, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the guy in the Last Samurai was based on a real person.

Danny is a long established popular character with an existing fan-base and his race is an important aspect of his characterization and yet people are accusing Marvel of racism for casting a white actor to play a white character wanting the character changed to Asian just because he does martial arts, it's all pretty damn pathetic.

@buttersdaman000: All movie industries on the planet take stories from elsewhere and tailor them to better suit there target audiences, Bollywood for example entirely remakes movies with a full Asian cast, does that mean they are 'brown-washing' western culture? no of course not. The Gods in Gods of Egypt are mythical beings famous for being able to change-shape, why can't they look like modern white-people, how is this racist and yet casting Heimdall 'the whitest of the Norse Gods' with a black actor perfectly acceptable. I received a message on YouTube from an actual Egyptian about the movie, he stated that most Egyptians don't care about it at all and it was mostly African Americans (His words) causing uproar about the misappropriation of African myths even though they had no ancestral connection to Egypt. He said it was like someone from Iran complaining about the portrayal of a Japanese myth because technically they were both 'Asian'

Not only have a huge number of white character been unnecessarily race-swapped for TV/movies we are now at the point where SJW's are calling Marvel racist because they have cast white actors to play white characters, these race-baiting idiots were amusing at first but it's gone beyond a joke, it's just pathetic.

I'm personally against any major change to an already established popular character, whether that change be race, sex, sexual orientation, nationality etc. If a character is new and has no fans (And you have the creators permission) then by all means make changes you deem appropriate but to make such wholly unnecessary changes to a successful character with an established fan-base is frankly lazy and is disrespectful to said character and the long-term fans. I also hate the ridiculous double standard regarding casting, cast a white character with a black/Asian actor and that's perfectly fine and race doesn't matter and yet the other way round is outrageous racism and white-washing? no that's just just ridiculously wrong. James Bond (Who is as much a part of my culture as King Arthur, Robin Hood and Sherlock Holmes) is a straight white male and there's nothing wrong with that so there's no need for him to be changed in the same way as Blade is and always should be a black male and Shang-Chi is and always should be an Asian male. As for the mighty whitey stereotype Danny hasn't been that trope for a long time, not only is he the latest in a long line of Iron Fist's his story was about being the outsider who had to fight harder for acceptance and is eventually accepted by the culture that he takes as his own. Then when he leaved K'un-Lun he is once again the outsider and has acclimatize to the modern world, his race it an inherent aspect of his story. Also the mystical martial arts Asian is far more of a played-out cliche.

As for Hollywood being racist? no that's not inherently true either, every movie industry on the planet takes stories from elsewhere and tailors them to best suit their target audiences, Bollywood for example even entirely remakes western movies with a full Asian cast, is that 'brown-washing' western culture?

I cannot believe that even though a huge number of white characters have had their race changed for TV and movies (Including well known heroes such as Johnny Storm and a Norse god like Heimdall) Marvel is getting accusation of racism because they cast white actors to play white characters, or that people are saying they won't watch because the character is white, that is the single most racist thing I've heard in a long time, it's all so damn pathetic.

@w0nd: Instead of a complete cure he should somehow be given the ability to change to his powered form like Colossus can.

Saying that, if he truly wanted to be cured he could have just asked Sersi to change him back.

Wait a minute, not only is Doctor Strange still Steven Strange, he's had no major changes to who he is? are you sure this is a Marvel book?

@jonny_anonymous: Sadly they probably won't, in fact I can't think of any other reason to feature him over the other more interesting Nighthawks.

Personally I'd like somebody to write a great comic featuring the Earth-712 (Earth-S) Squadron, they're who I still instinctively think of when I hear/read the name. Also I can't believe out of all the Nighthawk's that exists they are choosing the boring racist (Supreme) one, not only is he far less interesting than the others, he has nowhere near the skill or experience that the others do.
