I read the first couple issues of "all-new", it just doesn't do anything for me; I'd rather have seen a reboot.

do they really believe this will re-juvinate the series? Its hacky writing and it wreaks of deperation for new storylines. Brand new day, ends of the earth, "superior" spider-ock... Now, this!? Just a ploy for sales, and a pitiful one at that.

sorry. I know I'm in the minority but the first ASM didn't do anything for me.. And I don't plan on going to the 2,3,4,5,6..... whatever. But sony/marvel.. Take a page from spider-man 3 and try not to introduce too many villains at a time or insert venom/symbiot too early.

Yes it cheapens it. No it's not the end of the world or good stories, but I don't find deaths in mainstream comics anything more than irritating at this point. That's not how it should be.

Arguably it's Superman's fault. He wasn't the first, but he was the biggest.

Does their return deminish the death story? not necessarily. Does bringing them back to soon? In my opinion, absolutely. There are times where they wait, but often they rush into resurrecting them or create lame storylines/characters to replace them; eg superman or spider-man (current). But whats an adequate amount of time? There's probably alot of opinions... Too fast, piss people off. Too late, piss people off. Do it wrong... Piss people off. Its a balancing act.....

I think when it comes to death/resurrection publishers/writers give their readers enough respect to do it right. It becomes gimmicky and obviously a ploy to boost sales.. and often times readers see that and stop reading.

(slott comes to mind, yet again with his "parker is dead" crap)

Its probably why I started reading some independent publishers, and "non superhero" books like walking dead. When they are dead, they're DEAD.

Rant over... I'm sure people have discussed and will discuss this at nausium anyways...

Obviously they need parker back. Even with the desperate holdouts, and some converts (who like this hack writing), parker is spider-man.. Its just a matter of time before he returns, or sales plummet. Frankly I've completely lost interest either way. I have 600+ issues I can read in the meantime.

This is getting retarded, "superior" foes, "superior" carnage...... There has been nothing worthwhile in the "superior" spider-man, but unfortunately marvel is either not getting the msg or "comic geeks" will buy anything with the marvel logo on it. I really do hope that this ends up in a major nosedive of readers... I certainly not buying anything new, they've ruined too many titles with their hack writing the last few years worth.

I'm usually very patient but when it comes to trades and story arcs I have reservations.

After reading the "back stories" of spider island I can tell you I'm not at all interesting in every facet of it, but the core title/arc. If I were interested, is there a trade that only involves the main title?

fake spider-man is acting like a world class twat. I hope this ruse doesn't last long and we can go back to good old spider-man. I realize wolverine couldn't just sniff the air and say he's an imposter, or daredevil use his.... uh, whatever that power is called.. But Mary Jane should be able to tell from 50yrs away this jerkoff is anything but peter parker. Especially since she knows of his secret identiy, and the chaos his life goes through.. Or Aunt May. Jeesh what a creepy first encounter that'll be, since doc ock once wanted to marry her.
