@tparks: darth zannah didnt beat him in a lightsaber battle, they did fight in a lightsaber battle but they were too evenly matched so they went into a battle of will power using the force which is where Zannah was able to overpower bane with the force.
Darth nihilus was killed by meetra surik, a jedi exile. His spirit only lives on today through a holocron. While darth vitiate is still alive in person today, no one even bothers trying to find him in whatever galaxy hes in cause no one would stand a chance. Btw youre calling vitiate mentally unstable but nihilus was(past-tense cause hes dead) even more mentally unstable because eventually his ability to absorb the force became a dependance so he needed to survive(making it also a weakness), then with that dependance his hunger grew and grew until his hunger controlled him not vice versa, he was losing control and went crazy for the force.
Nihilus never did anything on the scale that vitiate did, vitiate did things far larger and is still alive today, jedi were scared of him and no one came close to opposing him, he is essentially god.

Vitiate killed thousands of jedi's with a thought, he used to be the emperor until he randomly left and disappearred and is thought to still be alive today thousands of days after he left.
