@scott_summers52: This. And thinking about it, if Ben's been the Jackal for a while, didn't he say back in Kaine's Scarlet Spider series "Who wants to make Spidercide 2.0?" And now he's got that pattern on his costume and a mouth on the mask? ...oh god, no.
@mattydavehalpeo: What? I remember plenty of people being irked they broke up Barry and Iris only to pair him with the just recently re-introdued Patty (a creator's pet even before the New 52). Especially since it meant Wally would likely be on the back burner for a while (and he was for years).
It is a shame though that just as New52 Supes was getting good and really seeming like, y'know, a real Superman, that this happens. If only DC had actually given some more thought to the direction of things at the start of the New 52, instead of just rebooting quickly to get out ahead of Marvel (for a few months before it reverted back to Marvel outselling them). Then maybe this wouldn't be necessary.
Still stoked though to see pre-New 52 Superman, complete with being married to Lois and having a kid, in the lead.
@the_stegman: Honestly, why does Scott Lobdell keep getting work? His books aren't hot sellers, are they? And they tend to get consistently poor reviews. Guy hasn't been a decent writer since the 90s ended...and frankly the tone of his work is stuck there.
@owie: "What I like, besides the art which is great, is the relationship between Anakin and Obi-wan. To me, the plot is besides the point. What I enjoyed seeing is Obi-wan teaching Anakin, showing off some of the Jedi teachings/values in action, and then seeing Anakin learning some of those lessons well, and others not so well. It was a good example of Jedi teaching in general, and Anakin's specific strengths and failings in particular. It's a nice bridge between Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones/Clone Wars."
So basically something George Lucas completely failed at when it came to the prequels, instead deciding to show empty action instead of letting us get to know these characters and their relationships with each other. I get it, but other writers, artists, etc. making up for George's poor writing and direction? Really it's just a reminder of how the prequels failed on a storytelling and directing level (I blame George for the performances more than the actors themselves).
@squalleon: Marvel also shipped several fewer books in December than DC. As for DKIII, I'm not. While it was always going to be a high seller, Frank Miller's bad writing for the last 15 or so years was going to cause some people to stay away.
So Marvel only shipped 81 books and 27 graphic novels to DC's 98 and 36 respectively? Not surprised Marvel's market and dollar share went down a little bit compared to recent months.
@jayc1324: you haven't read "The Dark Knight Strikes Again," "All Star Batman and Robin," "Holy Terror" or much of anything Frank has written the last 15 years, have you?
