@CATPANEXE:  Logan during the greatest part of his life was a soldier and a secret services operative ( CIA and Canadian Intelligence ), so the persons that he killed for the most of times was ordered to do it. And the vast majority of those persons were Nazis, terrorists, Hydra agents, Hand assasins. So if you accused him for murderer than you have to accuse every war hero or CIA agent or marine for murderer too. And also you have to accuse each of his superiors that mind-wiped him and manipulated him. Logan sure he use lethal force during a battle when it's necessary (you don't expect someone with metal claws to use them for scratching his back or for helping cats from the trees), but the difference is that Logan always hated himself for this. He knows he is condemned, for this reason he uses his claws for saving lifes. He cares about the persons around him and he is selfless. Sabretooth cares only about himself. He has no honour code. He kills innocents. He embrace the animal within

@mrmisanthrope: It was established by Claremont 30 years ago that Logan has a soft spot about the kids. He always saw the x-men as his family and this is the reason that he stay with them all this time. Aaron built on something that was a fundamental and very well known part of wolverine's character. In every incarcation of the character, from X-men TAS to X-men Evolution , from the X movies even to a kid show as Super Hero Squad (the only teenager of the team Reptil has wolverine as his mentor) Logan always was close to the younger members of the team. The seeds of the conflict between him and Scott were planted before Aaron wrote the schism, during Kyle and Yost's X-force when Scott involved Laura with the team without even speak to Logan first and when he risked the lifes of Hellion, Surge and Boom Boom for saving his precious messiah. Do you remember how many times at this period Logan and Scott fought about this? So don't accused a writer for bad writting because he don't write the things the way you like. Every writer has favorites and i don't think that in Cyke's case there must be complaints since the last years the majority of X writers they were in love with him (Whedon, Ellis, Fraction etc) and at the same time many characters were butchered, degenerated or ignored.
As for the Utopian kids Logan only said that they were brainwashed to think that they are soldiers of the mutant army and if you red the last issue of Generation Hope this is not actually far away from the truth.

@Kairan1979:  I think that gambling is part of the life lessons that many times are more useful than the literature lessons. Besides the school has the perfect teacher for this: Prof Remy LeBeau

@nonfiction91: Actually what i meant is that if Logan was the same person as you described him, then he wouldn't give a damn about Betsy and Fantomex for being captured anh he wouldn't risk his life against the Goat Monk for saving them. Also he would possibly abbandon Wade without hesitation in Otherworld and he wouldn't carry him at his back. That said i think that Remender writes the best deadpool in ages. I love him in UXF.

@nonfiction91: This was said by deadpool whose decapitated body Logan carried all over the Otherworld, that he supported him while he insulted him continuisly, without saying a word. The same deadpool who Logan defended when AoA Nightcrawler called him an idiot.

Well you can't call exactly the relationship between Logan and Sabretooth "schism" or " a matter of point of view". It's actually far more personal than this. Victor raped and killed Logan's wife Silver Fox the day of Logan's birthday. And that particular day every year Creed bring the hell to Logan wherever he was, for not forget. The difference between them is that Victor embraces the animal, he loves that part of himself. Logan hates this part of him most. Logan's greatest battle is against his own nature. Victor adore being a sadist killer.

As for Logan and the English Literature besides Rucka's run that we saw them a lot of times reading there is a perticular scene in Wolverine #5.1 where Melita invited many friends of Logan for a birthday party and we saw Luke Gage saying that he wanted to bring as present a book but he didn't, because he knew that Logan actually have red much everything. And there is another scene in UXF #10 when Psylocke enter at Logan's room and we saw him reading the "Old man and the Sea". Sure Logan is not familiar with scientific texts, but i think he red many romances and novels during his long life
