@guru_crack: It's an eight issue mini, there will probably be one trade in total.
It is? Because I think I read on Newsarama that it was an ongoing.
I have the very same doubt as you guys. On the one hand, I doubt Bermejo would write and draw an ongoingAnd I even THINK (I'm not sure) I read in his Twittr that it was going to be a limited series. On the other hand, though... I can't find anywhere if this is "Part 1 of..."
4 stars? It barely deserves 1. All of the jokes fall flat and feel like they were written by a 5 year-old kid. The storyline is.. well, it's nonexistant, it's just stuff that randomly happens -- which I'd be OK with given it's a comic named "Punks", if there was some actual cynicism in the dialogues or something rather than those incredibly stupid pseudo-jokes we got instead.
I like Bolland the best, but Capullo could be a close second. I still don't get what it is that people like so much about Lee's artwork -- I'm not saying he's bad or anything, but nothing he does really "WOW"'s me.
Did not like this issue. The "twist" is convoluted, confusing, and does absolutely nothing in the way of tying up this story. I'm not sure what exactly i'm supposed to think about that random, sci-fi information dump of a plot explanation in the middle of the book.
*spoilers*
Also, that fall would have absolutely killed her. Where the hell did that fake robot hand come from since she had 2 working hands the page before? And she just what, takes some ship with no weapons from this fleet of people who were trying to kill her 5 minutes ago? There's not just fresh sailboats sitting around with no one on them. I guess the mers could help her take one since theyre apparently all best buds now all of a sudden.
Really poor and rushed feeling ending to an otherwise good series.
Amen to that. The whole ending just felt rushed and slightly out-of-place. While the first half of the series was awesome, and the beginning of the second half was pretty good too, the latest issues grew more and more laden with exposition. A somewhat disappointing finale to an otherwise promising title.
I still don't understand WHEN this story is supposed to happen. I mean, everyone's dressing in 60's clothes, right? BUT, there are Ipods and cellphones. So, really, WTF.
I watched it today. It wa entertaining, fun, but not much better than it's predecessor. The dialogues are TERRIBLE, and lots of characters are overacted. The whole Harry Osborn/Green Goblin plot feels crammed in and doesn't work properly, either. The fight scenes are cool, though, the score is good (not Zimmer's best, but still I liked it) and the VFX are top-notch. So that's somwehere between a 2.5/5 and a 3/5 for me
