Well it has been a long time since I got online, mainly because I work long hours and I love my wife to the point I want to spend time with her lol. So with that being said I looked at some of the remarks on my first blog (out of boredom mostly) and saw some pretty hatefull comments. Well the internet is a brooding ground for that I suppose , but for my part I couldn't get over how some people have to go out of their way to feel intellectualy superior lol.
Well people I am not an intellecual and I am far from superior, hell I am a working man and a hard working one at that. I love comics and I voice my opinions as they are just that opinions. I can feel free to generalise and speak on what topics I wish, since this is MY blog not yours I can only guess some people have no lives other then to seek out blogs at random and degrade them for said opinions. Troll on my dear "friends " , if it gives you purpose then do what you must. As I said before Im just a regular guy who loves comics with no delusions of intellecual supremecy.
I like Meat and potatos for dinner, a cold beer to forget the long hard day of working maintenance and to lose my self in comics once a week . So if my caveman like rants bother you then by all means go listen to your My Chemical Romance or Lil Wayne put on some skinny jeans and read your Johnny the homicidal Maniac books
Ok so I have been checking out the Marvel Now! Titles and I have to say... it's crap! Marvel took a legitment chance at doing something epic and flushed it down the toilet. Uncanny Avengers, Thor and Fantastic Four in my humble opinion were garbage! The fact that Marvel has gotten to the point where they are trying to mirror the New 52 is a testament to how much their printed work is suffering. With Disney funding them they have a chance to really evolve these characters, but alas they seem to all , but given up on that concept.
Maybe if Marvel Now! Did something radical like the New 52 , this relaunch would have better ground to build on. But it just seems that Marvel is content with just going with the motions, while writting titles around the next big film release.
I miss the days when Marvel actually was worth reading for me. I think the last time that was around when Garth Ennis shook the industry with Punisher Max. Sounds judgmental , but how can any self-respecting fan read the trash they have been putting out? l mean I understand loyalty to a brand (I am an 18 year down Detroit Juggalo) ,but when you see the characters you love being written to nothing greater then pure mediocritie, well then isn't it time to move on? I believe so . Much to my dismay I see little to no hope for Marvel , with the Disney buy out being a logical business decision it has hurt their printed work. How? Simply look at the focus on the films versus the quality of writting on their titles. The Avengers film has been a success so far , but do we really care about the six different Avenger teams? I know I don't .
