I haven't seen the official DC statement about Earth-2's return. Just going on a thought. What if instead of trying to meld Earth-2 DC in with the New 52 DC? They are planning on treating Earth-2 as their equivalent of Marvel'sUltimate line of comics. I actually see some potential promise in that.

That's what i said! And I whole heartedly agree with you FoxxFireArt.

I agree that it shouldn't be brought back as part of the new 52. If DC are brave enough to relaunch every issue with a fresh new start and new focus, then i think they should follow through and just focus on those titles and the universe it builds around it. There is no need for an earth 2 in a new DC universe and I think having to juggle a new universe with a second 'alternate' version is going to water down both.

If they are intent on launching an earth 2, then i think they should hold off and perhaps launch it as a second line, much like the ultimate line over at Marvel. This would help differentiate the two for new readers and make the management and editing of both universes easier and more effective.

@cattlebattle: I'm sure your aware but I just thought it was funny that they did do Secret Wars again.....and it was horrible.

No... No they did not... The Beyonder did NOT come to earth, make a body that was a duplicate of Steve Rogers, go around learning about humans and life, turn a building into gold so that it collapsed under it's own weight, fight the Puma (Who the universe 'aligned itself with' granting him the power to kill the Beyonder but he hesitated), eradicate the New Mutants, and then tried to put all of his infinite power into a finite body by making a baby that he would pour his essence into... Course, the baby was killed when the heroes of earth tunneled down into the earth (molecule man) and triggered an explosion...

Nope.. that never happened... I deny it, and you should start denying it too...

Genius. And yes, i deny it also.

I think my first real crush might be SC after reading that.

If not, then my first crush was a Canadian lass whose name, shamefully escapes my memory at this time. I was a simple Welsh boy at the time and was introduced to this vision who was so much older than i (14 to my 10) and who spoke with an accent that was as exotic as it was Degrassi Street. I think she liked me. I mean, i really think she liked me, but, unfortunately, our cultural differences and the fact that Welsh outdoor swimming pools and inevitable shrinkage kept us apart. We parted under the auspices of sweet sorrow and though out hearts swore we would stay in touch, our genitals whole heartedy disagreed.

I have held Canada close to my heart ever since... unfortunately it still gives me a rash.

Alight, so you've inspired me people! This will be my first entry and i haven't picked up my pens and pencils in a while but here it is. It was done with mixed pen and photoshop and in the spirit of the new 52 universe, i've gone with something a little different and redesigned Babs as younger, making her far more of a bat 'girl'. Completely understand if this puts me out of the comp as i know that you specified that Barbara is used. No matter, happy to put it up anyway.

@Om1kron: Awesome Om1kron. Beautiful use of perspective and line work. You're a great draftsman, have you ever had any training in design or anything like that?

@feebadger: Very insightful! It is a great point. It is funny though, another title you COULD have used is ALL the X-Men Are Good!

Of course you're right Hawkeye446, but then no one would have read it! ;)

I suppose that the pointless element of hte X Mens situation comes from the fact that if they are the next step in evolution, then it means that the previous step, us, will soon die out and become the lesser or subservient species. We'll either dwindle then die or be kept in some form of petting zoo for young mutants to poke with sticks and laugh at while we try to breed and such. We, in turn, will muster our collective intelligence and strike back by throwing our faeces at them.

But regarding the futility of the X Men's goal, i thnk that, ultimately, hope against seeming impossibility is what makes heroes who they are. If the task was easy, then it doesn't take bravery, hope, heroism to face it. MLK, Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Jesus, Rosa Parks, the unknown rebel of Tiananmen Square, Janani Luwum all of these people and hundreds, thousands more have stood against the seemingly impossible, the hopeless and have either triumphed or saw their lives ended only for others to take up their cause as a result. I think that is the X Men's ultimate goal, to not give in to baser beliefs as some victories are not worth winning if it costs you your soul.
