Feast
Summary:
Feast is an insectoid mutant designed as a bioweapon for mass-destruction. Created by an unknown benefactor, Feast’s primary power is the ability to absorb all forms of energy and channel them for his own use. At present, he is working as a black ops operative, but is being considered as a prime candidate for the Registration’s Squad #13 program…
Appearance:
Feast, in his chrysalis form, is a slender insect-humanoid of medium height. His entire body is covered with crimson-red chitin armor plates, and razor-sharp claws sprout from his fingers and toes. His eyes are covered, as his biological armor shields his whole face save for his mouth and teeth. Feast also has a long prehensile tail.
In his imago form, Feast’s armor plates disconnect as his size grows exponentially. All of his muscles become enlarged, and his teeth, claws, and tail extend as well. In this tall and bulky iteration, the red armor plates on his body slide apart, revealing a glowing layer of lime-green energy underneath. The plating on his head expands too, revealing shimmering green eyes.

Origin:
The exact nature of Feast’s creation is entirely unknown. Nobody knows who made him, and no one knows what his true purpose is either. All the United States government is aware of is that the insectoid unexpectedly appeared one day in Louisiana, and proceeded to massacre an entire town before consuming the energy from a nearby nuclear reactor – causing a localized meltdown that took the lives of hundreds of innocent civilians.
Though a quick superhero deployment saved many lives and incapacitated the mutant, the damage had already been done. It was apparent to the suits that the monster was dangerous, and he had to be sealed away. The insectoid was put deep into a classified federal holding facility, where he was imprisoned and kept away from the general populace. But it wasn’t just a matter of protection, as parties in the government were also intrigued by his power and the potential use of such abilities.
During the mutant's incarceration, government scientists studied his biology in an effort to understand the insect mutate. They came to the conclusion that he must have been a human at some point, and that his genetic code had been tampered with to create the deadly monstrosity he was now. But the researchers were astounded to learn that the insectoid was actually a walking battery; an energy parasite whose sole function was to absorb power and then rechannel it for his own purposes.
Underneath his blood-red armor plating, the mutant’s muscles and cells were designed to absorb all forms of energy and use them to trigger his metamorphosis. The researchers learned that his present appearance (which they termed his chrysalis form) was actually used to protect his inner body until it had soaked up enough power to transform into a far superior incarnation (which they called his imago form). The imago form was almost unstoppable but required a constant flow of power to sustain it. With this crucial piece of information unlocked, the government then began putting the mutant to good use.
The original incident that marked his first appearance was covered up, and witnesses who saw him were all sworn to secrecy or detained. Memory and cognitive implants were installed into the mutant’s brain so he could understand his handler’s commands, and he was registered as a covert superhuman operative for the United States. Codenamed ‘Feast’, after the one word that he often repeats, Feast would go on to spend many years as a black ops hitman for shady federal agendas. Overtime, he built up an impressive reputation as a feared hunter, and as a reliable wetworks assassin.
With his lengthy years of service, the government spooks have now begun considering a promotion for the insectoid mutant. The Squad #13 operation is recruiting new candidates to hunt down unregistered heroes…and Feast fits the bill just perfect.
Character:
Feast, at his core, is still a killer. Though his government implants have installed higher brain functions within his mind, Feast still thinks with a hunter’s instinct. Survival is his first priority, and any threats to that are eliminated. The drive to survive is also what leads him to absorb all the forms of energy he can attain, in order to transform into his imago form as quickly as possible. In combat, Feast is feral and savage, destroying all in his way and tanking just enough power to trigger his metamorphosis.
On a trivial note, Feast generally doesn’t use full sentences, but communicates with single words - even though he is intelligent enough to understand complex conversations. He also has a tendency to use synonyms.
Powers & Abilities:
Superhuman Physiology: In his chrysalis form, Feast’s insectoid body grants him several capabilities. His segmented chitin plates protect him from projectiles as strong as armor-piercing bullets, and he possesses enough strength to lift over fifty tons. His whip-like tail, and sharp claws and teeth provide powerful offensive weapons that can tear through even titanium. And he also displays superhuman agility and reflexes with his nimble body.
Energy Absorption: His primary power, Feast’s main ability is to absorb and channel all forms of energy in order to evolve into his imago form. His body is a biological battery, and all types of radiant and conductive energy directed to him can be absorbed – from magic to psionics. Feast is not harmed by this energy consumption, but instead uses it to power his metamorphosis. He is also able to release any energy that has already been absorbed as well.
Metamorphosis: When Feast has devoured enough energy, his body undergoes a metamorphosis and he evolves into a larger, more powerful imago form. His entire body expands, and his armor plates slide apart to reveal a glowing green layer of energy underneath. In this mode, Feast’s strength rises to incalculable levels and he becomes near-invulnerable to all types of damage. But this form is limited by the energy it consumes, and if Feast does not absorb a steady supply of power, he will eventually revert back to his chrysalis form again.
