@ogg927: From what I've seen, the show's actually way better than the New 52 books (But, the old books and new ones starting in Feb are probably still better than the show).

And, I hope they make his sister Speedy. It's already her nickname and that would be great foreshadowing.

I'd say read Back in Black,... read BND... and AvX 9...

This! Big Time would also be important to get caught up.

[Amazing] Spider[-]man comics were best years ago.

And, this!

If you like the Lizard get SHED. If you like the Hobgoblins get Danger Zone (but, this one still might be too confusing if you're not caught up).

Otherwise, there was another thread with suggestions out there... I'm not seeing it now though.

DON'T READ ASM 698... At least not until the series gets better... it's way too disappointing.

@Sifighter: That's an interesting idea. But, it's waay too much like the symbiotes...

@gotwillpower: I'm sad to say that is not a good place to start. =( That issue was horrible (both for writing and drawing, really too confusing to be climatic). If you're interested in Spider-Man I'd suggest reading some older ones first. There was another good thread that listed places for newborn Spider-fans to start.

The first time the symbiote is seen is during Secret Wars (8) as Parker's costume. (I know that's not really what you're going for, but it's a little tid bit of extra knowledge for you.)

@vicske77: Minimum Carnage is about to have its last issue (Omega). It has been a great series starring Venom, Carnage, and Scarlet Spider along with some new characters like the Redeemer and Radu. You could wait and pick up the TPB.

Otherwise Big Time is the perfect to place to get caught up with the current Spidey. But, if you really want to get into the real Spidey (pre-Brand New Day). It's tougher to recommend something. Perhaps getting the recently reprinted Amazing Fantasy 15 would be the best to begin with (worth having even if you already know the story). The Back in Black series was great along until they changed the Spider-Universe with Brand New Day. But, to understand this new (Mary Jane-less) Spidey you might want to read both arcs.

If you really liked the Lizard the SHED series is SWEET and involves the new Spidey (post-BND) if you prefer to read about him.

@ssejllenrad: <-- This guy wins this thread. That is all. Please, stop commenting further. It would seem rather fruitless.

Wow guys, thanks for the comments!! I really didn't think I'd get any lol...

They were pretty good comments too, and if you did disagree, thanks for being gentle =)

As I messaged Plastic Bag and King Saturn, Superman could have probably beat the crap out of the Man Jesus. But, Jesus could have probably just walked through his fist (like walking through the crowd that wanted to stone him) leaving him dismayed and confused.

NEW YORK STOLE STAN'S WORD!!!!! And, I never thought I'd see Catwoman behaving so patriotically.
