Earth 2

I'm confused. Is the new 52 Earth 2 the same as the old Earth 2 (where super-villains like the Crime Syndicate control the world)? Or, is it a whole new different world that the writers are using to retell the same old origins stories in different ways (which I would be much less likely to get)?

@FatFriar_16: Whole new world with a different theme. Think of it as "What if the hero trinity didn't exist" kind of comic.

The original Earth-Two was the place were the Golden Age heroes of DC lived. It was merged with other earths during Crisis on Infinite Earths and the GA heroes became part of the main DCU canon.

The "Earth-2" you're talking about is the Antimatter Earth, based on the Pre-Crisis Earth-Three, where the original versions of the Crime Syndicate lived.

The current Earth 2 is a reboot of the original Earth-Two, with younger and modern versions of these Golden Age heroes.

basically this, the current Earth 2 is a alternate universe where the Golden Age (original 40s 50s) ccharacters kinda live,
