100 Things I love About Comics
No order. But the first is accurate.
No order. But the first is accurate.
My all time favourite character in the history of the universe.
His one true love, Selina Kyle.
The one who started it all.
The second comic character I ever loved. Best quote ever.
My favourite X-Men ever since I first saw X-Men: the Animated Series all those years ago.
A quick wit, killer looks, and an awesome power. Good or bad, Emma stands tall.
Could not love this story more. Got it for my birthday a few years ago, and I've read it at least 5 times a year since.
Do I even need to write anything here?
Crazy people need love too.
Otherwise they end up like this. Best villain ever.
Badassness squared.
I'm not going to lie, I really love the New Gods, so expect a few.
See?
Toldya so.
Last one, I promise.
Batman at his best. The "first appearance" and one of the milestones of comic book literature.
Speaking on literature. Quis custodiet ipsos custodus?
Remember, remember, the fifth of November, the gunpowder treason and plot. I see of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.
Brian K Vaughan, you are awesome! Read this book, now.
It's Daredevil. He equals win.
My favourite Marvel story, and one of the best comics I've ever read.
The story that got me into comics, rather than just the animated series.
Jeph Loeb at his best.
Jeph at his second best.
Hulk SMASH other 24 candidates.
My favourite of the FF, particuarly the Ultimate version.
And my second favourite.
Third favourite, guess who's not showing up?
Equal best Marvel villain.
The other best Marvel villain.
Eddie Brock; eternal BAMF.
Great series. Though nothing stands out as brilliant, nothing is bad either. Always consistently good to great.
Awesome. Simply Awesome.
More awesome. Simply more awesome.
My absolute favourite writer. This guy is a genius, and has inspired my writing ever since I first read that first issue of New X-Men.
Second favourite writer.
Russian epicness.
Gotta love Kitty.
Not vengeance. Punishment.
I really like what Yost and Kyle have done with this series.
Angel is King of the Whedonverse.
And here's his Queen.
And his other Queen, who isn't a "cryBuffy".
Solid character. Solid stories. Nice mind-numbing superheroism.
Mark Waid owning the DC Universe.
Mark Waid owning the Superman Universe.
I can't believe I forgot her!
Or her!
Ok, this is just unforgivable. Number 49? She should be top 10. I suck.
Southern Belle.
And her ragin' Cajun.
Bill Willingham, from the bottom of my heart; thank you for this series.
I kinda wanted to keep it off this list to be different, but screw it. Long live Neil Gaiman's masterpiece!
"You don't get it. I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me!" And thank God for that, we got one of the best single issues of a comic ever.
Yay, Conner.
Yay Cassie.
Yay, Tim.
Yay, Teen Titans.
My favourite Flash, sorry Barry. The Fastest Man Alive, and one of the best characters ever.
His alternate media appearances are always good, and his Parallax story was great. Especially since it introduced;
My favourite and the first Lantern I ever knew.
The most screwed-over character in the Buffyverse, the Zeppo, and a seriously entertaining Son of a Gun.
I don't like her that much, but if it weren't for her, there'd be no...
Gotta love her. Gotta flipping love her.
Anya is the best thing to come out of Buffy's third season, and without her, the show would not have held on so well the subsequent years.
"I know what I'll do. What I should have done from the beginning. Tie her up, and torture till she loves me again". Ah, Spike, whether Big Bad, comic relief, or anti-hero, Spike is always great fun.
Go Steve! Long live the American Dream.
Danny Rand, certified ass-kicker.
I don't know why I love her, I just do. So, here we are.
Just a beautiful and moving tale of the greatest hero that ever lived.
Just an enjoyable character.
My favourite of Bruce's wards/sons. Dick is an amazing character as Nightwing. He's just not Batman.
Is it possible not to love Barbara Gordon? The answer is no.
Not too much to write about here other than he is awesome.
He's no Giles. He's better. Though he only came into his own after joining Angel's cast, ie: when the writer stopped screwing him over for comedy relief.
Great character that I fell in love with almost instantly. Also, she gets my vote for sexiest comic character ever. A Jim Lee drawn Helena is the secret to Nirvana.
Earth-1, All Star Bats, JLU, Smallville. I always love me some Black Canary.
A leftist with an epic bow. The only thing I hate? That bloody goatee! The Smallville Arrow costume is perfect in my eyes, as is Ollie being clean-shaven.
Yeh, this is pretty self-explanatory. He has Mjolnir, what other reasons do you need?
Russian super-spy? Yes, thanks.
WHY IS EVERY VERSION OF HER DEAD? JAN IS AWESOME.
My absolute favourite Avenger. Hank Pym is the Scientist Supreme. And he deserves more respect than he is given, by fans and Marvel alike.
Ersatz Batman or not, Steven Grant, Marc Spector, and Jake Lockley all amount to ownage.
Ok, so I mostly like the first two films. But Blade defined cool for several years before the Dark Knight, so respect for that.
Long live Firefly!
It should never have been cancelled!
We
want
more
FIREFLY!
Superhero names taken literally, I love the Inhumans.
See?
Biggest BAMF in DC.
And the guy who ripped him off is funny too, until he appeared in every bloody book on the stands.
Nothing can stop him from appearing on this list.
I'm really not that big of a fan, but every now and then I dig his books.
Best villain in the Whedonverse, not including Spike and Angel, of course.
My last Whedon-created addition, and one who I really feel for. Poor old Faith.
I thought I'd leave him for last. Make it seem like I'd forgotten him. LONG LIVE THE KING OF THE INHUMANS. LONG LIVE KING BLAKAGAR BOLTAGUN.
