Dave Gibbons is the perfect GL artist. He gives us classic looking Hal, great anatomy, consistency, expressions, and flare. The man is known for Watchmen fame but you can see his genius pop up in these pages too - which all lead up to a straight up battle issue, old school, and I love it. Marv Wolfman writes this rather long winded issue, where not a great deal happens. This issue sees Mr. Ferris come back to take over the company and just be an all around jerk, basically. How does this classic Iron Man tale about alcoholism hold up?As it stands this trade, on the whole, is pretty mediocre - save for the high point of issue 128, which is a classic issue that certainly delivers. The prelude to the classic Armor Wars storyline deserves a read, and here's why...It's an interesting decision on the part of Marvel to title this simply "Armor Wars Prologue". Green Lantern Corps hitting its stride 0
Van Jensen (with plotting help from Mr. Venditti) is really carving out a nice little niche for GL Corps among the GL line of books. It doesn't feel redundant or unnecessary. GL Corps is a great way for GL fans to dive deeper into the GL universe, but in a different way than the main title.
