You can't have a Spider-hero without spider powers. They all have the basics, clinging to walls and increased strength and agility, then each has their own unique ability. Spider-Man has (or had) his spidey-sense, Jessica Drew has her venom blasts, Julia Carpenter has her psychic webbing, Mattie Franklin had extra spider legs sprouting from her back (ick) and Anya originally had her exoskeleton. Oddly Anya seems to have picked up two extra abilities, organic webbing and the camouflage which makes me think she'll lose one after the Spider-Island story ends. Probably the webbing, she can go back to her grappling hooks. The fact that she continued as Spider-Girl without her powers makes her an appealing character (Peter Parker quit when the thought he lost his powers) but it's time to move on.

Thanks for that, and I agree OMD needs to go, the sooner the better. The Spider-Man newspaper strip just had Peter Parker wake up one morning and it was all a dream. That's pretty lame, but then again, so was OMD.

I personally think Peter Parker won't die, he'll get his ass kicked and appear to die but instead he'll work full time for SHIELD, letting everyone think he's dead to protect his loved ones. But I trust Bendis, Ultimate Spider-Man has been consistently excellent for 10+ years and if they move forward with someone else under the mask I'm sure it will still be good.

Way back when I thought "She-Hulk" was a stupid name, but after all this time I can't imagine calling Jen anything else, so Betty's probably Red She-Hulk forever (or until they de-power her).

I'm definitely against "Rulk" and "She-Rulk," luckily they don't seem to be catching on.

Young Allies was a great series. Great writing by McKeever and great art by Baldeon, Marvel should have given it more than 6 issues to find an audience.  But I have the feeling Nomad will be back. Onslaught is one of those villains that are too big to really die as the very end of Onslaught Unleashed suggested.

Yes, but isn't that how the whole gamma powered thing works? Get yourself a massive dose of gamma rays, hulk-out then all your repressed personality traits come to the surface. The calm and meek Bruce Banner becomes a raging monster, serious lawyer Jen Walters becomes a fun loving free spirit and kind and loving Betty Ross becomes a hard-ass bitch. Turns out she's more like her asshole father than we realized.

Then again, being tortured by the Intelligencia doesn't help.

Fear Itself #2 has Betty still able to change back and I'm guessing it takes place after the current story arc in Incredible Hulks, but who knows.

Betty should have stayed dead in my opinion, but if she is back she shouldn't go back to the same old role of long suffering love of Bruce Banner. I suppose Red She-Hulk ads an extra layer of tragedy to the Hulk's story. I'm okay with it, I don't hate it.

I've been a fan since Amazing Fantasy and for me the name change wasn't a big deal. The problem with the series is the generic costume she now has and the fact that she doesn't have any powers. A Spider-Girl who can't cling to walls? Really?!?

But it looks like she's getting her powers back in the Spider-Island event coming up so maybe she'll get another chance.
