I do consider them to be separate from the comics, especially since there's usually a lot of liberty being taken to the characters whenever it comes ...
Who says he has to kill Spawn to stop him ? Why can't Captain Atom drain Spawn's Energy Source from the Astral Plane and possibly use it against him ...
