Moments after the ice wall exploded, Eric was struck with some sort of psychic barrage. He was able to defend himself, by it was painful, like a extreme migraine that came and went within ten seconds. He staggered back, stepping through the snow and pressing his hands against his forehead, groaning in surprise.
Because of this, he couldn't notice Dahlia prepping another spell. He snapped back to the fight when the first crack of thunder reverberated throughout the city. The bolt came down and hit the wall of a electronics store. A surge of electricity pulsed through the building, and all of the various things for sale essentially exploded in a shower of sparks.
The next bolt landed metres from Eric, and the blast knocked him off his feet. He was sent flying back, to crash through the windshield of a car, caving in part of the roof. The glass shattered and the body of the entire car bent from the impact, the car's alarm going off. Slowly, he rolled off the hood of the vehicle and onto the snow-covered road, which was considerably softer. He had trouble breathing-at least one of his ribs were broken. He gasped weakly, trying to recover some of his strength.
He glared up at Dahlia, pushed himself to his feet, and began moving towards her. He fell to his knees shortly from the pain, breathing heavily, looking very weak. For a few moments, he didn't stir, the snow just building on top of him.
Without warning, the car that he had landed on was lifted off the ground and hurled towards the woman, flying straight and stable. Simultaneously, Eric launched a psychic distraction, meant to momentarily distract her. The car made a large "whoosh" while it soared towards Dahlia. Eric was using some of her own tactics against her.
