Only if Marvel gets rid of everyone buying the book that remembers what they changed(ie f****** up) in order to get them to this point. Brand new readers won't know any better and that's just the way that want it. If they took her out of the book completely, there's a good chance they'd lose a lot of the readers they have left. Add to that the fact that none of her "replacements" are as important to the readers as MJ was. Hence why she's still in the book. And while they don't want her married to him, they have to give her purpose for being around. So now she's just a "friend."
Add to that the desperate attempt Quesada made to convince(ie trick) people that Carlie Cooper was so important to him, and it gets pretty sad, doesn't it?
Personally, if it was the result of a GOOD story, I could accept them being just friends. Hell, a good story could even make a divorce work. But the problem is, instead of a good story, we got One More Day! To this day, I STILL think they were smoking something when they came up with this s***!!!
