Who Slings da Ring?

Over the last few years its been the Cosmic side that's gotten me back into comics, mainly GL. An under the pen of Geoff, the ranks of those who wield the power of the Emotional Spectrum has grown. As has my respect for them all.

List items

  • The Green Lantern of my generation, Kyle hold's special place in my heart. I have a number of his comics, and have read even more of his adventures in trade. I've enjoyed him as Ion, and even as his time from Rookie to Veteran to Honor Guard. Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps.

  • The Greatest of the Green Lantern Corps. Hal was always a cautionary tale for me during Kyle's reign, and not someone i looked forward to when the time for Rebirth came, and yet Geoff has made him someone i love. Nobody slings the ring like Hal "Highball' Jordan.

  • A former Guardian and also a African-American, while the comic John (who now closely resembles him) didn't play a huge part for me b4 Rebirth and SCW, his place on the Justice League and JLU cartoons led to an entire generation who thinks Green Lantern is black. That John i love, and every episode with him was amazing, and the closer he and the Comics John become. The happier i become. Semper Fi indeed.

  • While i never had much love for him, GLC has made Guy into a character i care about. While not my favorite Lantern, he's intrical to the Corps, and he rocks that Green (and now red) ring with style.

  • The original Green Lantern, while not an official member of the Corps, anyone that Superman can look up to as a hero. Deserves to make the list.

  • While he may be a sick S.O.B. these days, Sinestro has always been one of the best. THE ideal GL foe, he is one of the best villains in the biz, and one of the greatest weilders of a Power Ring to ever live.

  • While he only started ring slingin recently, Ganthet is the premiere Guardian and a beacon of Light in the darkness of the Universe.

  • Of all the foes that Geoff has created, the unstoppable behomoth of Atrocitus is probably my all-time favorite. He's a foe worthy of a GL that will hopefully test the power of Hal and the Corps for years to come.

  • The prophesied "Most Powerful of the Green Lanterns", Sodam came out with a bang in the SCW. Personally the full fillment of a childhood dream, i def love him. An the fact he's a natural with the ring? Welcome aboard.

  • The love of Hal's life weather he likes it or not, Carol is one of the few significant other's in comics that can go one-on-one with her hero's arch-nemesis. A Star Saphire, and one of the best in her Corps, she is a hero for young girls all around.

  • The best of the Blue Lantern's Walker's faith is unparalleled, as is the hope he is able to kindle in his fellow beings. He lends a light the Universe sorely needs.

  • The Drill Sergeant of the Corps, Kilowog is a master of the Ring. From the day Hal Jordan first heard Poozer, through the Blackest Night and Brightest of Days, this Vet just won't quit.

  • A former member of the Rannian Army, Vath is a soldier that is willing to do whatever the Corps needs. His approach is normally straightforward and to the point, and since the beggining of the War of Light he has served his Corps.

  • Sinestro's answer to Kilowog's loyalty and training, this master of fear is not a soldier to be tested.

  • The heart and soul of the GLC Mogo is a force to be reckoned with in its own right. Responsible for guiding the rings to new bearers, guiding the corps on their journey, and holding a power source only second to the CPB on Oa, he is vital to the Corps survival.

  • A former Guardian, and now a purveyor of Hope, Sayd is willing to do whatever it takes to outlast the coming Night.

  • Leader of the Indigo Tribe, it is she who managed to begin the process that led to the New Guardians formation.

  • The avatar of the Black, he is a threat to all life in the known Universe. This Necromancer is to be feared, but for us to survive, he and his master must fall.

  • The owner of the Orange Light of Averice, Agent Orange is truly a disgusting foe for the GLC. One of the favorites of Geoff, he has def caught on with the fans, as has his personalized corps.

  • Daughter of the Original Green Lantern of Earth, and love of Kyle's life. Jade was also a galactic hero in her own right. Giving her life to save us all in a crisis of great proportions she made it clear how far she was willing to go for what's right.

  • Not only a Lantern, but a Surgeon as well, Soranik has become an integral part of the Corps. Now revealed as the long-lost daughter of former Corpsman Sinestro, the real power of her Legacy threatens to eclipse all she has accomplished.

  • One of the Greatest GL's to ever wield a ring, he is sorely missed, though his son does him proud in the Corps.

  • Hal Jordan's predecessor, as well as the man who taught Sinestro everything he knows. Abin's legacy, which includes the discovery of the Prophecy of the Blackest Night, still affects the Corps to this very day. While the new Generation may have moved on, this former 'Greatest" still resonates.

  • A Veteran Lantern, she is a former love interest of Hal Jordan, as well as the one chosen to safe-guard Sodam Yat. A powerful Lantern.

  • The man who helps makes sure the Corps continues to run. While not the most popular, as shown during both throughout the War of Light, without him the Corps would not be the organization it is today.

  • A Veteran Lantern, and a powerful member of the Corps.

  • Along with Ganthet and Sayd, one of the single most influential beings in the War of Light and the direction it takes. Revealed as a servant of Nekron, she had the Universe dancing to her tune longer than any suspect.

  • A new recruit among the Sapphires, Miri is a powerful member, and a friend to the GLC. Already she has had an important impact on the War of Light.

  • The son of a powerful former Despot. Upon gaining his ring he plunged the Sinestro Corps into chaos, as he attempted to reform it into the Mongul Corps. From his original battle with Honor Lantern's Kyle and Guy's strike force, to his duel with Ion, and defeat at the hands of Sinestro himself, he has changed the course of the War.

  • Responsible for the Riots that left Oa ripe for the Blackest Night, Vice was an influential member of the Red Lantern Corps b4 his untimely demise.

  • A hero who sought to depose Darkseid, he is responsible for the Corps as it now appears. The Green Flame is a true hero, who inspires his fellow corpsman, as well as a mighty ally as they fight for Justice.

  • The being behind the Blackest Night, Nekron is a force to be reckoned with. The Lord of the Dead is the last "ring slinger" you want to have to face.
