I used to be all about Marvel, but in the past several years it's become so self-referential, up-its-own-@$$ and preachy I just haven't enjoyed any of their titles for a long, long time. Let's just hope they fix some of the stupider tropes/ideas/paradigms/whatevers that have developed. Such as.... The X-Men are way to ham-fisted with the preachiness. Can we have an X-Men story that's just a fun adventure and not a heavy-handed gay rights metaphor? Less Wolverine. And bring him back to basics: a tough, scrappy, feral, STREET-LEVEL mountain man...NOT the Default Receptacle for whatever 12-year olds think equates to "badass" at that particlar period in time. That means he's not a martial-arts master, realize that unbreakable and undullable claws doesn't mean they can cut through anything, lose the Japanese-samurai-thing, and for God's sake scale down the healing. The whole mutant-thing in general. Mutants should be incredibly RARE, not so common that storylines involving "Mutant Registration" are feasible. Less SHIELD. Way less SHIELD. Make Galactus what he's supposed to be: The Ultimate Threat. Literally incomprehensibly powerful and the ONLY thing that can stop him is the Ultimate Nullifier. (Galactus seems to have been powered down at the same rate Wolverine's been powered up.) There's more, but tired of typing. Just....bring it back to basics Marvel.

Yup. Conan would slay BP, as he has slain every single opponent he's ever faced. BP's outclassed by Conan. Just about everyone is. BP might have a small chance against Solomon Kane...a tiny, itsy bitsy chance. Well....nah. Kane would slay him too.

Punisher shoots him in the face immediately. "Prep" is always a stupid thing to say. No one should say it. Ever.

I love this thread. If anyone is immune to and completely nullifies that gratingly stupid "prep-time" non-argument, it's the Roadrunner. Batman fails with every attempt. Hilariously so.

In answer to the OP: Any character who doesn't have the Ultimate Nullifier.

As time has gone by, writers have been depowering Galactus at about the same rate they've been powering up Wolverine. The whole point of the character is that he's The Ultimate Threat. The only thing that can stop him is the Ultimate Nullifier. Other than that, there's no way he can be defeated. That's the character's dramatic function. All these stories about a "depowered Galactus", or the "death of Galactus" are mishandlings of the character. He should be written very much more sparingly.

This is a tough one. I'm no fan of Aquaman, but Wolverine's one of those characters I despise. None of W.'s attributes are going to help him against deep-ocean pressures, frigid temperatures, or drowning.

Indeed sir. I hate "prep-time". It's a dumb phrase and an irritatingly stupid and meaningless argument.

"...anyone like Black Panther"? What does that mean? A skilled athletic figher? Yeah he has. Here. This is why Conan would beat BP. Or Batman. Or whoever. Take your pick: "Zaporavo was the veteran of a thousand fights by sea and by land. There was no man in the world more deeply and thoroughly versed than he in the lore of swordcraft. But he had never been pitted against a blade wielded by thews bred in the wild lands beyond the borders of civilization. Against his fighting-craft was matched blinding speed and strength impossible to a civilized man. Conan's manner of fighting was unorthodox, but instinctive and natural as that of a timber wolf. The intricacies of the sword were as useless against his primitive fury as a human boxer's skill against the onslaughts of a panther. Fighting as he had never fought before, straining every last ounce of effort to parry the blade that flickered like lightning about his head, Zaporavo in desperation caught a full stroke near his hilt, and felt his whole arm go numb beneath the terrific impact. That stroke was instantly followed by a thrust with such terrible drive behind it that the sharp point ripped through chain-mail and ribs like paper, to transfix the heart beneath. Zaporavo's lips writhed in brief agony, but, grim to the last, he made no sound. He was dead before his body relaxed on the trampled grass, where blood drops glittered like spilt rubies in the sun. Conan shook the red drops from his sword, grinned with unaffected pleasure, stretched like a huge cat..." from Pool of the Black One, by Robert E. Howard
