replacing Nightbreed vote with Pin-Head, still a Clive Barker shout out, and Hellraiser Bloodlines had that whole future sci-fi scenario

In no real order:

Darth Vader (of course)

Dr. Who (actually made an impact in the Marvel Universe by sending Death's Head to Earth 616)

Q (greatest cosmic entity in Star Trek history)

Terminators/Skynet

The Nightbreed (the denizens of Midian deserve a shout out)

Considering someone many are overlooking making an appearance in this episode, in Glorious Godfrey, I have a feeling Darkseid will play a role in the invasion arc,

Remember his fight with Death's Head, and AIM put out the hit on him that DH was trying to collect, so no, he is not a villain, he uses darker tactics, but like I said, he is more along the lines of an Eddie Brock/Frank Castle, he uses questionable tactics to fight evil, and his whole reality is ruled by AIM, so he has no real choice in using those methods.

The saying goes, If it's not broke, dont fix it. I think most comic book fans hate costume alterations, and yes Batman and Superman have changed with no fan negativity, but in subtle ways, major changes like that ridiculous Superman Blue/Superman Red costume scheme was universally despised. Most fans dislike anything but a mild virtually unnoticed change, and Wonder Woman's costume is perfect, so why change it?

I would HATE the "reasonable evolution" you offered

Not sure I would call Iron Man 2020 a "bad guy" more of an anti-hero

This is totally a derailed comment, but I think the best venom would be Kaine.

Kaine is the new Scarlet Spider, he has no ill will towards Peter, he wants to make a good name for himself, he never was Venom, nor does he harbor any hatred of Spidey or jealousy of Spidey any more that would make him a good host.

@BiteMe-Fanboy: Alright, to each their own. Personally, I love the new direction and the look. The dark elements in Flash's life make the emotional connection especially powerful (when done properly).

Flash is def. a good host for the symbiote, can't argue there. I just don't really like the whole government agent, gun toting, black ops thing though. Just doesn't seem like Venom to me... IDK. I guess i'm just a grumpy old guy who hates change. >.>.

Yeah the gun toting Venom does not really seem necessary, I mean, the things the symbiote are capable of don't exactly require a gun on top of, however both Eddie and Mac were in the service of the Government as Venom in the past, Eddie with the CIA, Mac with the Thunderbolts/Initiative, so that is not uncharted territory.

The gun toting Venom does remind me heavily of the What If? issue where the Venom symbiote joined with the Punisher...

the Punisher
the Punisher

Overall I'd say Eddie was my favorite host of the symbiote though.

If I were to call fault to this I would start with the art, it looks strong and weak from one frame to the next, The story itself is poor, likewise the artists cant even seem to agree on who is an X-Man and who is an Avenger, the variant covers of #1 show Wolverine as an Avenger on one cover, which he is having fallen out with Cyclops, and fighting Captain America on another, sensationalism covers capturing the more popular characters in combat is nothing new, just hate when it is a royal screw up. I'll take my Avengers Vs X-Men as the 1980's trial of Magneto. Thanks but no thanks Marvel, could have been awesome, fell short.
