Real life Green Lantern rings...

No Caption Provided

So.... I had this dream.....

That I lived in this post apocalyptic kind of world. I was a metal smith, and I had been given the task of forging the Lantern rings for my world. The problem was that I had only a tiny shard of the Starheart to work with, and there was no chance our rings would self replicate, given the technology on our planet. I set about fussing and following with a design, but didnt want to finish anything in feat that I might do something wrong and waste the shard...

There was news of a traveling exhibition coming to our town by train... it was a carnival of sorts and it was said they had an exhibition of this glowing green man. I was intrigued and awaited the carnival.... When it arrived, and I went to see the exhibition, it was vague and a bit horrifying, (as dreams can be) The "glowing green man" turned out to be a corpse, who, when viewers entered the room, would be sloppily propped up by strings, boated head lolling to the side. But he did, indeed, glow. And I could feel the lantern power filling his corpse and the rest of the room. The rest of this exhibition included a small table, on which a holographic video was played on loop detailing the discovery of the glowing man, and the story of his death.

He was a bank robber, and after a heist, he took to the mountains to find a place to hide. He was being chased out in a strange valley during a thunderstorm, and happened to get struck by lightning... what ensued was something of a fireworks show, as his body was raised up, charged with immese power, but he was unable to withstand the charge.

It was then I knew there was a valley that had strange radiation, and that if I could combined the lightning and the radiation, it would be the key to my worlds source of power for the lantern rings......

thats where the dream ended. But it inspired me to hit my hammer (praise Thor) and torch and get to work making my own lanterns. Please take a look at the pics and let em know what you think of the prototypes!!!
