LMAO...That was awesome.
If you had only posted the Green Lantern Script earlier, you could have saved me the $8 I wasted on the ticket.

LMAO...I'm still trying to figure out why he had to go to Oa to ask permission to fight Parallax.  Did I miss the part where they said: "hey don't fight Parallax"

Firstly, concerning the VSO and JVAC, I believe you missed my point.   The Peace Corps was started and is still supported by, the U.S. gov’t.   The other organizations are independent.   My point wasn’t that there aren’t charitable people in other countries.   Nor was it that we have some kind of monopoly on giving.   My point was that the U.S. has institutionalized charity aboard beyond just monetary contributions.

Secondly, when did I say anything about WWII?   If you’re commenting on what I said about Americans responding to disasters, I was commenting about Americans responding to disasters… not entering wars.   To your point however, you only prove me right.   You said “violent A-holes were made in America.”   And yet America refused to enter a war until it was attacked by Japan.   If we were in fact such violent a-holes wouldn’t we have been the first to sign up for that fight?   Wouldn’t we have gone looking for a fight?

And as far as your point about Hurricane Katrina, you once again only prove my point.   Where was the rest of the world?   Hurricane Katrina was a disaster and not a single country bothered to even send a sympathy card.   There were no fund raisers or out pourings of support from the international community.  And yet even though we still haven’t recovered from Katrina, we stopped everything to help Haiti when it was hit by its earthquake and more recently Japan.

Thirdly, who is the violent a-hole?   You essentially just told me that you wouldn’t miss me if I fell to my death.      As far as withdrawing our troops from Iraq, there is a December 2011 deadline to have it done by, but you may be right, because last month the Iraqi Prime Minster made a formal request to President Obama to keep U.S. troops in the country beyond the deadline.   You’re also right that I listen way too much to the media.   I should probably just stay as uninformed as you are.

Lastly I’d like to address what you told Roninidas.   You said “what about the millions of people in poverty across the country (a higher rate than other countries)” You’re right, we do have a higher rate of poverty than other countries, but do you know why?   It’s because we have a higher standard.   In the United States if you’re a single person who makes less $10,830 a year (as of 2009) you are considered as living below the poverty line.   At the same time the average yearly income worldwide is only $7,000.   In other words if you’re a poor American, you’re still doing better than a middle class non-American.

Look I’m not trying to build America up and say that we’re better than any other country.   We wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for the British.   Nor would we exist if France hadn’t come to our aid in 1778.   We are forever grateful to them and to all the other countries who have contributed to us…..But at the end of the day there’s an American flag on the M@#$!& F#%$*!@ Moon and you’re an idiot.

Firstly, let me say that calling someone an idiot and saying that they are making idiotic comments are not one and the same.   There are many smart people, who make idiotic comments because they are simply uneducated.   Roninidas was giving you the benefit of the doubt.   I am not.

You said that:

“’Heroes are made in America’ LOL….what a questionable tag line.

As a nation, America has given more in foreign aid (medicine, food, money, ect.) than any other nation in HISTORY.

As a people, Americans have given more money in charity than any other group of people in HISTORY.

Americans have also given more of themselves for others than any other group of people.   Name one other nation that has created an organization like the Peace Corps, which exists to improve the lives of others living in impoverished countries.

When disasters strike around the world, America is always one of the first countries to respond and to offer its help.   Right now we have record flooding in the mid-west; record fires burning in the Southwest; and all coming on the heels of a record tornado season.   Name one country that has come to our aid.   Not one, but that’s okay, you know why?   Because heroes are made in America.

You went on to say:

“(America is) constantly obsessed with expansion and through financial and other gains by utilizing war and intimidation…”

Really?

I'm not even going to address the gramatical errors in that sentence, but I would like to ask you this…if America is a colonialist power like you claim it is?   Why did it allow the Iraqi people to hold elections and elect their own representative gov’t?   Rember the purple thumbs?  Why are we withdrawing our troops from Iraq?   Why (when oil prices are skyrocketing) didn’t we just take Iraq’s oil reserves instead of giving them to the Iraqi people like we did?

@Emerald Dragonfly:
I have to respectfully disagree in regard to your "new Cap is lame" comment.
In Capt America #50, Bucky is attacked by terrorists.  After he beats them one says "you aint the real Captain America."  To which Bucky replies "Believe me, I know that better than anyone...but I'm tryin."  This is the essence of the new Cap.  That inward struggle between what we are and what we should be.  It's human.  It's us.  In otherwords, it's why we all know who Captain America is and what he stands for and why I had to look The Shield up on wikipedia.
